.284 Winchester question:
Can a 168gr Berger be pushed to 2900fps in a 25"-26" tube without cooking the hell out of the brass?
I'm looking to re-barrel a SA Rem 700. With the new info on RE17 the .284 Winchester looks promising, but all the info on 6mmBR.com is with 31+ inch tubes.
I'm shooting a .308 right now. I'd like to stay away from fire forming, neck turning, etc. at this point due to time constraints. Otherwise, I'd look at upgrading to the .260AI.
Thanks
