As long as spots are available you can sign up. I expect the Saturday match will fill up in the next few days. Sunday only has a few guys signed up right now. If Saturday fills up, you will be placed in the Sunday match.

I will publish a list of disciplines to be prepared for tomorrow morning. This will be a fun but challenging match. Expect so fun stages that will test your skill set.

Terry, I appreciate your humility, but really? Okay, you have to shoot factory .223 from a 16" AR and everyone else in LE division can shoot whatever they want. See, I just leveled the playing field, kinda.

No. I can see why you ask though. The open class was created to level the playing field a bit. The 6.5's and other high velocity rifles would usually shoot in that class. However, if an LEO shoots that and wants to compete in the LE class he can.

We are just trying to keep things as level as possible for everyone.

How many times did I thank you for top loading for me? Well here's one more. Thanks a bunch, I didn't run out of time at that station because of you. I'm glad it was damn near shut your finger in the chamber and not shut your finger in the chamber. I would've had to do some Paramedic stuff for you.

My rifle is now sporting CDI bottom metal, a 10 round A.I mag and a 5 round A.I. mag for back-up. You think that'll get it done?

I will have been out prarie doggin two weeks prior to this match. That's going to equate to about 600 rounds of bolt action fire for me this month...and I bet I still won't be tired of shooting.

I would highly recommend anyone whose been thinking about trying a tactical precision rifle match to sign up. This will be a great opportunity to shoot with a bunch of friendly guys, have fun, and learn a lot. Plus the entry fee is a third of what most matches are charging these days.

We spent a full day at the range yesterday laying out stages and preparing the range for the upcoming matches. I think that everyone will be very happy with the stages. I gaurentee that there will be some stuff you have never seen before. The stages will challenge your positional shooting skills and attention to detail. Match has a total of 8 stages. Three short range, three mid range and two long range stages. Make sure you know how to use your gear. Holdovers are going to really help you keep your times down. To often shooters want to dial elevation and that will slow you down here. For those of you who like to see more pistol work in theses matches, you will have plenty of that this time. 

We will have an open range day the afternoon of May 21 from 1 to 4 for shooters who wish to come out and get good dope on your rifles. Cost for range use on the 21st is 20.00 per shooter. We will have the 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 700, 800 and 1000 yard areas open. All targets are reactive steel and can be engaged from the same firing position. If you are interested in coming out for the range day, please PM or email me so I know how many shooters to expect.

I just saw that the Blackhawk targets will be used at this match. If anyone wanted to know what these targets do and how well they work, I have been shooting them for a few months now, giving them a workout.

Anyone needing a hotel room for the night of the 27 or 28 should book soon. Many of the hotels in the area are full. I have negotiated a rate at the Comfort Inn Gainsville for 95.00 a night if you mention you are shooting at the 3 Mils Right Range. This is 35.00 off the normal rate. Gainsville is the next nearest town with open rooms at this time.

Yes. I was at the range all day today. It rained like a cow pissing on a flat rock but it dries out pretty fast. I would suggest a shooting mat if y'all want to stay a little clean.

Open range starts at 1pm. You will not be allowed to fire before then as we have a private shoot going on in the morning.

Thank you to Chuck, Dave, Maurice, Sharon and the rest of the 3 Mils Right gang for having me out to shoot some of the match stages today to help them work out the timing, scoring, etc.. Unfortunately, my work schedule will now not allow me to shoot the actual match next Saturday, so I really appreciated the invite to come up this weekend to shoot a practice match.

All I can say is this is going to be a great match. I don't want to give anything away, but I can say they have put together stages and scenarios that are a lot of fun. The Blackhawk targets worked flawlessly and we shot them from 90 yards out to 1065 yards today. For the experienced shooters the Remote Self-resetting Blackhawk Target System will let you shoot a stage that is like nothing you have ever shot anywhere before! For any new shooter, in my opinion, they are using appropriate target sizes to assure a high hit percentage and fun factor for everyone.

I was also very impressed with the range. The natural terrain of the place is going to allow them to put on matches that will be new and uniquely challenging. The facilities, while still under construction, are obviously going to be really nice when finished. Shooters in Texas and Oklahoma are going to be very fortunate to have this place putting on matches and training so close.

I think there are still a few spots left for the match next Saturday, if you haven't signed up for this match I would highly recommend that you do.... It's going to be a lot of fun!

Also, if you stay in Gainesville when you come out for the match, the WinStar Casino is 6 miles North of you on the Red River. I was amazed at how huge and nice that place was. If you stop by there please try to get some of my money back.....

We appreciate you coming out and giving your feedback. We want to give everyone a fair but challenging match, so thanks for giving us a day of your time.

It was also very nice to meet everyone who cam out yesterday for the practice on the long range. I hope everyone was able to get your rifles doped in.

Construction should be complete by next weekend on the building. Rainand weather has set us back a bit, but we are working through it. We look forward to seeing everyone next Saturday. Please get there a little early to get your gear together as we will be watching our time to get all the stages in. We will begin promptly at 8:30 with the safety brief.

Just wondering what some of your 308 holds were. At 700 I was holding 2 moa, 800 2.5 and 1065-75 I was holding around 5 or 6. Was the wind coming from 11 o'clock ? That's whatbit felt like to me.
