What the hell is going on with 300 win mag brass? Has new production been outlawed? I've been looking at all my usual (and some unusual) reloading component suppliers, and nobody seems to have any in stock. Not even the rumored "shitty" brass is available. WTF? I don't want it all, but would like some.

Put up a want to buy post in the reloading PX section. I got a couple hundred pieces of RP 7mm RemMag brass that way. I'm sure someone has some 1-2x fired 300wm brass they want to exchange for cash.

What kind of shape was that stuff in. I've been reading some bad things about new production winchester brass. wrinkled shoulders, neck splits, etc.

They all looked fine. I found no split necks or wrinkled shoulders. I bought 2 bags of 50. Just ran them through a neck mandrel to round out the necks and then chamfered and deburred them . Loading them up for some hunting ammo in a Tikka T3X Lite. That will work for me.

Thanks for the info. I may have heard from that individual that got the odd, bad batch. I'll give ww another look.

I just bought two bags of Winchester and the QC is bad... I haven't opened the second bag but the first had 10% with nearly split necks. I was wtf, are they trying to sabotage me. Here are some pictures that reflect the mouth condition along with some defects

I opened/inspected the second bag and I only had to quell 2 pieces due to deformities. The mouths were still atrocious, but at least these are somewhat safer.

I culled about 25% yes thats correct of the red black bag winchester 300 WM. Visible creases/deformities in shoulder and neck. I have been VERY happy with the ADG brass I purchased as a replacement. Extremely consistent.
