Can you guys give me some recommendations for built 300blk upper. I'm not against building one, but I feel like prebuilt ones probably hold their value better.

I have heard that 10.5" is where its at, but at the same time I have read that all the powder burns by 9", so why would anyone want one longer than that?

The purpose of this rifle is just to have a nice subsonic AR and it will be shot temporary with a 338 thunderbeast (I am in the process of looking for a smaller 30 cal suppressor though). I want it to be as reliable as possible and I do not mind paying more as long as it holds its value and its high quality. I DO NOT want to have to be put on a waitlist or something though, unless the wait time is less than a month or something.

So far I have seen 3 popular options. the 9" AAC , the 10" Noveske and the 'cheapie' 105" PSA option..

Pro's/con's, suggestions, lets hear it all!

For the money you really can't beat Seekin's barrels. Noveske are nice, but I think they're overpriced and their CS has been dropping off. If they don't quit burning some of their distributors they're gonna find that riding out on past reputation is only going to last so long...

I just liked the 11.5 length better when it came to the URX rail covering all the way to the now SOCOM brake...9.5 version has some barrel showing. Also, looks like KAC may no longer be in the 11.5 length in the future so this makes it somewhat of a rare item perhaps.

Going past 8-9 is either personal preference, legal reason (sbr), or filling a role such as wanting to shoot longer distances (which also falls under personal preference too).

I have both a 8.2 sbr and a 16". Haven't played toooo much with the 16 inch but it is easier to be accurate (group shooting) with supersonics in my experience. Not that the 8.2 isn't accurate (it is) but I find I'm more consistent with the longer barrel. But for banging steel either works awesome! My sbr shoots subs only but the 16 inch I'll shoot both through it

Well I've narrowed it down to:
    8" seekins
    the new 8.5" noveske
    9" aac

I gotta decide soon, shit! They all have their pluses.

I like that the seekins has the rail come further than the end of the barrel. It hides the suppressor a bit and thats sweet. But it doesn't come with any attachments at the end so I would still need to get a flashhider. (not big deal). Also, I'm not sure if 8" isn't just a tad too small.

The noveske already has a silencerco flashider to fit the can I am buying and its also a noveske.

The aac is cheaper, gets just as many rave reviews as the others but I'm guessing its a bit lower quality machining compared to noveske and seekins. Not sure I'm giving anything up though?

    decisions decision.

I tell you why I chose Noveske for all my SBRs; they just plain run right out of the box. Yes there are cheaper options that are fine but the 3 shortys I run are Noveske because they work brilliantly like a Swiss watch.
