300WM Powders

I load H-1000 in my AI-PSR 300 WM 26in 1-10
208 ELD-M=Nosler Brass, 215M, 77.0 H-1000 AVG FPS 2891
215 Hybrid= Nosler Brass, 215M 74.5 H-1000 AVG FPS 2851

I dint shoot anything heaver. You 1-9 should have no issue with those if you chose. Good luck!

I've already have about 7 lbs of H-1000 and have loaded with it . It does the job ! but I curious if anyone has an opinion on Retumbo or the newer Enduron powders ? . What powder is the most temperature stable ? I'm hoping my Rifle is back from the Smith before the end of July and that puts me into the warmest time of year for load development , my hunt is in November and could be in freezing temperatures .
With a 1n9 twist @ 26"s should I be looking for slower or quicker burn rate powders ?
I do not plan on shooting bullets lighter than 200 grains !
Thanks !

Well I'm using Retumbo and 210 VLD's, the 300Wm is a new caliber for me so I just started load development last week. Found two nodes that show promise and velocity is much higher than I expected, 2950-2988 fps. Getting ready to load some more up today in increments near those two nodes. Using a 26" 10 twist barrel.
Have some H4831 I'm going to try later with some 175smk for plinking loads.

I get great SD and velocity in my 243AI with 7977. I never worked up a load in my 300wm with it yet. Once my 200elds are gone probably, but the 200 at 3000fps with 4831sc does pretty good.

Had really good luck with H1000 with the Berger 215's and Retumbo with the 230's.. the heavies seems to like retumbo a touch better.

Has anyone had success with IMR 4451 and Hornady 178 ELD X?

I'm playing around with this powder since I am also using it in my 6.5 CM.

I found a node around 67.2 grains of powder and again at 67.8 grins of powder.

Is anyone else seeing the same results?

Any suggestions appreciated

200gr bullets could go H4831 or H1000 anything up from there H1000 with out a doubt. I havent seen any 300 win mags that wouldnt shoot a 208/210gr bullet and 77gr of H1000 well.
