I wanted to know if anyone was getting good results from the 155's. At 100yards, and out to a 1k. I have been shooting the 168 Amax with good results, but they are hard to find and i am looking for extra speed for longer range, or should I just use the Lapua 155's. The barrel is 1 in 12 twist, 26", using Varget. Thanks for any info. I did a search, but it did not help much.

Thanks again,
Pat

I haven't found the golden formula with the 155s in my 1:12" .308 but it loves the 168s.

No better than 1 moa with 155 AMAXs on a good day! Maybe jump intolerant for my Remington. Damn sure accurate enough for hunting!

Yeah, I am using the 168gr Amax right now, so I would use those for hunting, but wanted a faster round for shooting longer ranges. I thought I might stay with Amax, but the 155 lapua is looking better.

Thanks for the info,
Pat

That claimed .505 BC for Scenars is actually closer to .48 or so. I'll look it up and post the link for you.

I *was* testing 155 A-Maxes out of my new barrel but ran out before I settled on a powder and load. Haven't found any for almost 3 months, so I'm continuing with Noslers or whatever I ordered the other day.

Wasn't getting any better than 1 MOA, but maybe that's all that M1A can do... The search continues.

Yeah, Amaxs are very hard to find, looking to pic something and stick with it. From what I hear people really like the 155 lapua's. These will have to jump, because the 178 won't even touch the lands in my Remmy so I just load COAL to 2.875 to fit in mag.

Recent testing by Kombayach put the Lapua 155 BC at 0.461. Bryan Litz's testing put it at .459.

You can find the link to the .pdf document in the first post of this thread:

I'd gladly trade a little bit of BC if the accuracy is good, since the A-Max sells for about $10/100 less than those Scandinavian imports. European Union politics and overseas shipping lanes are also less likely to interfere with my ability to GET the Horndady's, for whatever that's worth right now.

I'm in the same boat can't find another box to continue testing, but I think I finally found something that will do around .6 MOA
