.308 175 gr sierra matchking with imr 4895

I use 45.0 Lapua Brass CCI 200 primers.
I don't have a chronograph but book says 2,704 FPS?
Per the ballistics calculator with that speed it tells me to dial up 11.8 Mils at a 1,000 yards which is wrong.
My dope at 1,000 is 9.4 Mils.
I must be faster than the book says?
24" stock HS Savage.

PSE EVO 60 Lbs.
Blacked out

I'd think that anything over 43gr IMR-4895 with a 175 would be very hot but there might be some rifles it would be safe in. 45gr would be in the zone of please don't shoot beside me.

I shoot 42.5 with the 168's and get warm results with them at 43.0 and above. This has been common thru several rifles with that powder.

42.5 under a 168 SMK is pretty mild in the 2 rifles I've used that combo in; book data goes up to 45.4 gr and I've run it all the way up there.
Neither has a very tight chamber (shallow throat) though.

To the OP, you're going to have to run a ladder or OCW to find what works in your rifle.
A good load in another rifle may not shoot worth a $hit in yours.

I'm running 43.5 gr I4895 under a 168 SMK in my AAC-SD.
Just got my 175s so I haven't spent any time developing for them yet.
