Hey guys new here. love the site.

I have never loaded this bullet before and my OAL came out rather short to use on my rifle. Usually I load 175gr hpbt and they usually come out to about 2.773, but I scored some 180gr grand slam bullets from speer bullets and its my first time loading them.

savage axis .308 win
lc brass trimmed to 2.005"
speer bullets Grand Slam 180 gr hunting bullet Speer Bullets - Product Details
winchester 760 46gr load

And I came out with an OAL of 2.642 which I'm really concerned about because that just seem a little short to me. Any one have some thoughts on this. Oh and I used the method Nosler gives for seating bullets specifically to your rifle for seating these.

Why? And how did you come "out with" such a specific OAL?

Both oal seem short to me for a stock axis those 175s should be able to be sat at 2.850" closer to the lands at 2.773" is a little deep imho why such a big jump to the lands even in my Bailey chamber which is much tighter then a standard win I'm seating 2.800" I would put a go and no go gauge to check head space
