338 LM Hornady Gauge Dimensions

Can anyone help out? I looking for the Dimensions of a 338LM headspace gauge and the bullet comparator....I Don't think Hornady Makes the Headspace gauge for this round.

Not sure if the bullet comparartor for checking a 338LM is .338.....my other ones dont match up so I'm thinking its some special number.

Headspace bushing is marked .420".


Bullet comparator insert is .33".

The HS bushing comes with the set, but I might have ordered the bullet insert separately, can't remember: 22, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28 and 30, came with the set, but don't quote me on that.

OK. I have the .420 insert, but the Hornady chart didn't show the that, so I wasn't sure.
.33 made sense, but my 284 was like close to 278ish, so I didn't know if there was some special magic number.

I'm only here to help, that and to drink any free beers you guys happen to send my way.

Remember, the bullet inserts 'can't be' the diameter of the bullet, or they'd be worthless--allowing the bullet to pass through. They are arbitrarily set to be something like .275", or .333" to allow us to measure at some 'deemed' spot along the ogive of the bullet.

Same with the datum line on the shoulder. 'Generally' it's halfway up the shoulder for most carts, but not always.
