But if a stretch here, but has another compare the TBAC ultra gen 1 vs gen 2 or other common 30 cal can on subsonic 300 bill or 338 arc?
I currently have a gen 1 338 ultra SR. It’s a great can on my 300NM and from what I’ve read online with this caliber only about 1 db louder than the gen 2 so I don’t feel like I’m missing out at all for that application. However I see the gen 1 sucks on smaller calibers like 308 and 6.5 compared to the gen 2.
I was curious if anyone tried these two can on a subsonic caliber as I know the flow dynamics and suppressor designs are very different between supersonic and subsonic loads. My primary interest would be building a 338 ARC or using on my current 300 blackout rifles to make the as quiet as humanely possible with low back pressure. And even if they are quieter vs something like a silencerco omega/36m or similar industry 30 cal or 338/357 can, is it significant to the point you’d pay the weight and length penalty?
My understanding is subsonic cans like lots of baffles whereas supersonic cans like fewer larger baffle spacing. Never seen a cross section of a gen 1 vs gen 2 to compare.
