Anybody have a switch barrel rig running a hunting barrel in a match contour stock? I currently have two stocks for my TL3 and would honestly just like to run my EH1A year round. If you have a picture of a RV contour barrel in an MTU stock or similar please post a picture.

Plan B is to sell my 6.5x47 3b barrel and buy a proof research sendero. So if anyone want a 16.5" barrel for their Tl3 give me a shout.

Any help would be appreciated

Your going to have a big gap with a 3b in a MTU channel. I would say at least .150" a side. A bit smaller with a RV. One thing that helps hide or make not as noticeable of a gap is having an EFR installed

Here is a med palma in an MTU contour. Having more room isn't a problem except for if the looks bother you. Doesn't effect performance.

Rob01 - yo dude! Are you running medium palma contour on your match rifle(s)? I am in the process of purchasing components for another rig and was considering going into one of the palma contours. My smith said he'd go "no lighter than a light palma and no heavier than a heavy palma," and I take this gentleman's advice as gospel ;) I am so used to running MTU or m24 contours that I was a bit concerned about the lighter contours becoming hot quickly, which of course introduces some "sporty" variables into the precision rifle shooting equation! how long have you been running the med palma contour? Ever have any issues with them? I hope all is well for you and your side of the country! Thank you very much sir.

OP - to answer your question, if you're hunting with this rig, I wouldn't care at all what it looked like. If anyone talks any shit to you, you just let them know that it is an "extra super free floating barrel," and that the guys on snipershide said it is the ONLY way to have your barrel floated. Run it!

Yeah this was my first that I had put on a few years ago and I have another getting threaded now for my Surgeon action. The med palma is a good middle ground between stiffness and weight. Have shot a bunch of longer strings with it and no shifting. It would be my choice out of the palmas.
