Been using the Hornady calculator for both their 4dof and standard calculator. It’s been great and spot on to 700. Recently wanted to try AB and was getting drastically different numbers between the two. Found out it was because the shooting angle in the Hornady app has a glitch.

I’m using 4dof for 136gr scenar L’s since they have doplar data on that bullet. So I was shooting down a pretty steep hill and used the app to capture my angle which was -15deg. Later switched to 120gr coppers and was forced to use their standard calculator. Hornady doesn’t allow you to capture your shooting angle in the app unless it’s under the 4dof section, it forces you to manually input it.

Thats where the glitch is. I input a -1* angle and hit save, go back to the page that gives you your solution and it defaults it back to the -15* that I was using with my 136gr in the 4dof.

So now every time I want to alter the shooting angle when I’m using their standard calculator, I have to go into a presaged rifle in the 4dof section and change the angle, then exit out and go back into the standard calculator and the angle will show up there.

I tried this and was able to replicate it, talked with Hornady tech support and they were able to replicate it also. They put in a ticket to have it fixed.

Awesome news. Glad it’s not just me and that it will be resolved. I’d much rather use the Hornady app when hunting cause it’s a little quicker and the layout and read outs are faster for me.
