was looking at buying some brass for reloading a 50bmg (wanted somewhere around 200 pieces) and met this guy who had 1,150 pieces of boxer primed brass that he wanted sell, claims they were shot at police demos thro bolt guns and the barrett M107.
after sorting thro the brass it appears as if the break down is as follows...
65% TW 4 (Twin City, im assuming 1944?)
15% LC 81
15% NK 1966 and NK 1964 (tho the N was backwards, didnt know who made this brass?)
5% misc headstamps
What would you consider a steal on this brass if i bought it? Would Lake City be the best one to keep of the bunch? and what is the NK headstamp (backwards N beside a K)?

Re: 50bmg brass, which to keep?

Keep in mind when reloading 50 BMG is that changing the casing brand can change the pressure of your load. If possible, I would try to keep all the same brand.

Re: 50bmg brass, which to keep?

I would skip all of that. Search for crod1972 and see what .50 brass he has. Get all one headstamp. If you can find IMI get it and don't ask how much. Otherwise pick up some of the newer Lake City. It is expensive to load .50 so don't skimp on the brass.
