Need some help from the hide....
A guy sent me this pic to see if I knew what was going on with his chamber. I know the smith that spun up this barrel (Proof CF 6.5 Creed), never heard a bad thing about him.
Brass only deforms on firing...WTF is causing this? No signs of over-pressuring. Could the chamber be shorted? How in the world would you get a flat portion for the shoulder to bump up against like this? I haven't reamed enough chambers to know, thought I'd ask those who are way more experienced than me on here.
Rifle is still dead on accurate, overall case length didn't change considerably...just the shoulder deformation.
He's shooting Hornady 6.5 ELD-X Precision Hunters, not reloads.
