well i think i am having pressure issuses here now. was loading to 41grains of h4350 but i think that its to much. have had smoke come off the rounds in the chamber, and have noticed today that the primers seem to be swelling on the back which makes it look like the firing pin is hitting to deep. made sure of it with some factory ammo and sure enough alot different so here we go with a lower load, and to start again.

What Chrono data matches with the shots on the 12" tgt above? (7 rounds)
Looking to compare ES to validate group size and see what is Shooter and what is ammo/load.
Of those 7 rounds it looks like you're shooting about MOA at distance..
There is a lot of information up there so I could be off track.
Had you not lost those 3 rounds to the right you'd have been right in there.

the 2 on the outside were the lower loads that arent showing on the chart. i'am going to load at 40.3 grains of h4350 and .010 off the lands using 140bthp hornady round
40.3 looks like it would give you good wiggle room for temperature changes.
Looks like 2730 velocity is working well.
That's a good speed.
I'm using some Winchester Staball Powder with 139 Lapua bullets and found a good spot at about that speed the other day.

40.3 of H4350 behind a Hornady 140 BTHP 0.010 off the lands worked great in my 6.5, it was pretty slow for me though (~2650).
40.3 was with Lapua brass, 40.6 was what worked best for Hornady brass.
I ran out of 140g ELDMs, & had to swap to what I could find (Berger 135gr Classic Hunters), but before I made that swap, I was getting great loads in my RPR using Hornady Brass, 140gr ELDMs, H4350 Powder, & FedGM210 Primers. I was loading to mag length (2.800) with 41.2gr of H4350. On my RPR, using my Lot# of powder at that time, with my brass prep processes/preferred shoulder bump, my rifle preferred a MV sweet spot range around 2710 to 2730fps with those 140gr ELDMs. No pressure signs, great groups, & they shot well at 1000yds. YMMV.
The pic below was my first test with that load. At that time, I did not have a super precise powder charge measuring system, and was using an optical Chrono. I have since switched to an AND FX-120i scale, & MagnetoSpeedV3 Chrono, so the SDs got better than my original test, but I can’t find my pic of the test with upgraded components.

Definitely some pressure signs there. All but one piece of the brass pictured was Hornady, but I saw one different piece of brass in the mix. The primers also looked different too. Initial thoughts are maybe some components got mixed up? IMO, I don’t think you should be seeing pressure yet at 41gr H4350, Hornady Brass, & 140gELDMs, so additional troubleshooting may be warranted to be safe.
Each brass type shows pressure signs differently due to differences in their metallurgy, and each type has varying thickness, which relates to differences in case volume. Hornady should be fine at that charge weight of H4350 with 140gr ELDMs, whereas theoretically, Lapua Brass may show signs of pressure earlier than Hornady at that same charge weight bc it has a lower case capacity. Also, different makes of Primers will create different initial pressure curves due to their chemical makeup, & react/show pressure accordingly due to the varying hardnesses of their cups. Other things to look at are: Powder scale accuracy. Maybe check your measuring device against another to verify it is correct. Bullet seating. Too far into the lands results in higher pressure. Too deep into the case takes up too much case volume & increases pressure. Brass prep techniques. It wasn’t mentioned what your process was, but resizing & trimming techniques can effect pressure. If not resized/trimmed properly, the case necks will eventually grow into the throat, thereby essentially running out of room for the neck to expand when trying to release the bullet from the case unimpeded. If the neck can’t expand to release the bullet without interference, massive pressure sure to follow.
Back track, investigate processes, & you’ll prolly find something slightly off. Good luck, & safe reloading to you!
i've got a problem i hope someone can help me with. shoot my rpr with a ibi barrel with no problems a couple days ago. now i went to clean it, and for some reason stupid does!!! i used a bore brush on it. after that i tried using a blank round i made a couple days ago, to use as a reference for all my reloads and the rounds are loading of but now they are hard to extract!!!. i was loading at 2.30 at the shoulder and have had no issue, but tried to extract a factory round and had the same thing happen. have i done something to the barrel??? picture below!! could use the help sorry about any comments before. have had a ruff couple months with a seperation going.!!!

had no problems with the gun the other day now even on factory 143 .65 rounds they are showing the same thing. like the rounds are to long for the rifle. would the nut come loose and shift the barrel back. or something in the barrel. looked cant see anything

What’s the overall length looks really long in the pics? Iv always had good luck jumping the hornadys at .065
so the first pic is a factory 143eldx precision hunter. full length.! 2.8115!!! second pic is my bthp 140gr hornady rounds loaded to 2.810!!! third pic is when the barrel was put in i did a lands test with the gauges and the bthp was 2.830 at the lands. so first i went to 2.820 off the lands and load tested from there!! rpr worked great till last week!! next 2 pics are what the full length and to the lands is now with a 140bthp same hornady round!!! What the FM is going on???? took it too S and J hardware that put the barrel on for me in belleville ontario, they said that scoped the barrel, and also fired the rifle with no problems, but when i asked if they tried to eject a live round from the chamber they gave me no reply!!!! what do you guys think????

well i've got it figured out. was told to use carb cleaner on the extractor pin on the bolt, and push it in and out for a few minutes, than let it drain out .then use gun oil and repeat the process. did it all and now the ruger precision extracts with no issuse.!!! thank christ
well i did some load testing yesterday, with 147eld match rounds from hornady. using h4350 powder hornady brass and cci large rifle primers. ran them through my magnetospeed and after that inputted the numbers into a excel program i got. as you can see 41.4grs at 20thou off the lands, works. talked to my friend ryan steacy from ibi barrels to verify it all and yup thats the known number. so onto loading more, and on to some fun
