I have now acquired my second (now a model 38) of these beautiful rifles that will out shoot me all day.
I am wondering if you fellows know where the best place for ammo purchase would be?
Also, if I want to buy bulk brass, good brass like Norma made for this caliber and rifle where would you turn to?
Also, do any of you fellows have any pet loads worked up for a good deer hunting load in the Swede caliber?
Yes, I know, I can be needy at times.

Re: 6.5 Swede

No leads on bulk brass or ammo, sorry. I've done a little bit of loading for my Ruger 6.5x55SE in both Prvi and Lapua brass.

For deer hunting I settled on 45.0 grains of H4831SC over a Hornady 140 SST, shoots very well and very mild. 2400 FPS from my 18.5" barrel. These loads shoot about 1.5" at 100 yards with the buckhorn iron sights.

I'm thinking of trying the 160 grain Woodleigh PPSN next, that's a cool bullet for a Swede.

Re: 6.5 Swede

Midsouth is where I buy my brass. I don't buy swede ammo in the states unless it is Norma otherwise it has been downloaded for weaker actions.

My deer hunting load is 45 gr of RL19 and a 125gr Nosler partition at 2800 fps. Last 3 round group was .334 at 100. It is my go to load for just about everything.

P.S. My swede is a modern Tikka action, work your load up accordingly. This load is over book max for military actions.

Here is the link to the brass. Nosler 50 rd box for 46.10 or Hornady, Remington, Norma, Lapua.
