I have a RPR in 6.5CM, and a Howa 1500 in 308, Both have about the same accuracy. I find I shoot the 308 a lot more. Up to 600 yards, I really do not see a difference in 308 versus 6.5CM. I reload, but bought milspec surplus 308 ammo for under 40 cents a round, which is cheaper than reloading. While the groups are not as good with mil spec ammo, I still do not have any issues ringing steel. There is no such thing as blasting ammo for 6.5cm. Right now try to find 6.5cm for under $2 a round. Plenty of 308 available. Sometimes I like to be precise take my time, fire a round, watch where the round went, make a correction, fire again and am happy. For that 6.5cm is great. Other times, I want to see how long it takes me to hit 10 different steel targets at different ranges, figure out what I did wrong and do it over again and go through a bunch of ammo, this is where I use 308. For hunting I like 308 for the heavier bullet weights and out to 400 yards I pretty much am good without adjusting the scope.
