Yup, my daughter has killed 2 deer with hers and I killed one with mine this year. Very good deer rifle and would not hesitate to use it on elk with a bonded or partition type bullet.
Range's on the deer 250~ yards, 333 yards, and 553 yards, all one shot kills. It is a reloaders round though. A friend of mine took an elk 2 years ago with his, don't remember the range or bullet he used. Another friend of mine shot his first bear with a 260 Rem using a 125 Partition and the 260 Remington and the 6.5x47L are near identical in performance.
