First post! I’ve lurked this forum a ton but it’s finally time to make an account and ask a question.
I’m quite used to the creed. I currently have an rpr with a stupid cheap vortex diamondback that I have taken to 1200 and last season I took a bull elk at 450.
Lugging the rpr around is not something I wish to do again. Also I need more guts because while I took an elk 1shot 30 feet of run and buckle. I had to skip over a much larger bull that was out at 800 TWICE. Because I was unsure of the Creedmoor if I missed the heart out there.
I have had a few injury’s involving my shoulder so holding standing shots while pulling a rifle into me is difficult and painful for most 30cal rifles. So I do believe the new 6.5prc is my answer.
I have a new nightforce 4-14x56 SHV in SFP that was a Christmas gift so scope is covered.
My problem is finding rifles in this round that aren’t going to need me to refinance my house.
I have about 2k I can spend and have had my hands on some Christensen’s at sportsman’s that I can afford (1800) just to do some research and find they have some horror stories. Like consistent repeat people with issues in beddingcausing accuracy issues. I can’t really push above that price. And though I adored the carbon ridgeline I’m not sure if it’s worth the risk to see if I get one of the good ones.
I plan on shooting factory Hornady precision hunter until I have enough brass set aside for my loader to set me up.
