So I have 26” Bartlein chambered in 6.5x47L. Lapua brass FL sized, FGMM primers, 139 scenars, H4350 and loaded to .002 off the lands. My SD’s are all single digit but I can’t get it to group under .75”. I’m going to try Varget, BR-4 primers and 130 berger hybrids out and see if I can’t get anything else. Then I’ll start mixing and matching with that set up.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to try out or what works for you.

If varget and what ever bullet you choose don’t shoot in your 47 something is wrong.

I’m on my 3rd 47 barrel all hawkhills...
First varget and 140g hybrids tack driver

Second 140eldms 130 Berger hybrids 130 TMKS all with varget shot lights out

3rd just got shooting last Sunday 123 lapuas and varget

I tried 4350 in all of these and no where near the accuracy or low number varget produces .

The steel is at 425yds 7 rounds and have not touched seating from the load development.
Run the varget you’ll be much happier

First thought is the load is not in a harmonic barrel node, meaning the muzzle is in motion during bullet exit. The other thought is it's difficult to maintain a 0.002" jump as bullets will vary slightly in ogive.

What is would try first is to increase the bullet jump to 0.020". If that doesn't work then look for a node either by going up or going down, maintaining the 0.020" jump.

The 139gr Scenar is very jump tolerant, so I wouldn't be changing things.

Are you playing with seating depth at all? I find adjusting the seating depth in my x47 doesn't affect the velocity at all with a non compressed load.

Buffy commented on what I first saw, with .002 of jump you’re probably jamming and jumping intermittently. But I assume you meant .020 and just got it mixed up with shoulder bump when typing.

I would look at your scope, mount, etc. I have shot tons of 139L and while not the highest BC bullets they are track drivers in 6.5x47L with both H4350 and Varget with low single digit SD's. Ive shot them jammed to .02 off and they shoot tiny little groups. Its not H4350 but I prefer Varget in my x47L because its much easier to find on the shelf and less powder per case.

Ive had two different Kahles 624i on there. One with seekins rings torques to spec and the other with an MPA mount. Ill pull that off tonight and ensure the base is tight.
