I've read all the data I can find. Published numbers seem low and I've read some pretty high numbers here on the 'Hide. I slowly worked my way up to 43.5gr H4350 with the bullet right at the lands. I had a sticky bolt there. It's right around freezing temp here. I've backed down to 42.5gr and seated the bullets a little deeper. But I'm surprised I'm that high and it's not giving me any trouble. I'm worried when the temp comes up or the gun gets a little warm in a match that I'm going to have pressure problems. So I just wanted to hear from the crowd how hot they run them? How far back from the lands do you find that Berger likes to be?

H4350 is supposed to be very temp stable. I beleive 42.5 is right where I stopped most of my charges with 140 grain bullets with my 6.5 creedmoor. If your really worried about the temp stability try warming the rounds before you shoot. You could crank the heater in your car and let them sit on the heater vent until they are up to 80 degrees then pull them out slap them right in the gun and shoot. Its not as good as actually shooting in warm temperatures but it should give you a decent idea of how the powder performs in warmer weather.

Don't sweat H4350 and temperature swings. You're looking at MAYBE 10fps in a 100 degree temp swing.

42.5gr sounds on the hot side to me, but each rifle/load is different. I'm at 41.7gr H4350 w/ CCI BR4 primers and a 130gr JLK, jumping maybe 0.02". No pressure signs but I really don't know where the max load is for me.

Remember, hot weather isn't the only thing that causes pressure spikes. I was at a match in heavy rain and everything was soaked including ammo and chambers. Several guys had to drop given the pressure spikes they were getting from water in chamber. Blow primers, stiff bolts, etc. My load shot right thru it w/o any issues, indicating my load is fine.

best of luck.

Ah, yes the rain, probably my biggest concern. I know it well and have had many experiences with wet chambers being from the "wet" coast. Great point and I'm glad to hear your charge kept working. Thanks James.

43.5, I'm surprised you can fit that much into a case. I'm running 41.7 H4350 as well, 130 VLD's into the lands about .004". Have went as high as 42 grains, but backed it down as the barrel broke in.

It was most of the way up the neck at 43.5gr! I didn't like the look of it but I wanted to see where the pressure limit was. Thanks for the responses guys. I like getting the consensus to determine what's reliable.
