can i seat bullets using a 6.5 creed seating die?
With how difficult it is to find H4350 powder, what other powders are you guys playing with in 6cm?
Thanks
I have scoured the net trying to find some data on Varget... NOTHING! NO data for it anywhere, and I'm too new to reloading to think about trying to wing it on my own!
Varget seems too fast for 6CM. Most data I've seen has been for H4350 on the fast side to H1000 on the slow. Varget is considerably faster burning than either of those.
Even if you were to find a good load with Varget, I would think it would burn out the throat rather quickly.
If you're not finding data for it, it might be for good reason.

So I think I had ok results but I'm not sure where to go from here. This is 87gr VMAX .010" off lands with IMR 4064 at 100 yards. 5 shot groups.
30g - .77"
30.5g - .86"
31g - .62"
31.5g - 1.02"
32g- .82"
32.5g - 1.08"
33g - .66"
33.5g- .74"
34g - .91"
34.5g - 1.07"
Since there is no published data for this load I started in between 6x47L and .243 Win data. I know this gun is capable of more as it will shoot factory Hornady 108 ELDs at around .45"
I didn't experience any pressure signs at all. Should I continue pushing for a hotter node? Or stick with the 33.5g load and experiment with seating depths. With the factory 108s the bullet is seated quite far onto the lands.
The couple times I shot the 87HPs I used IMR4350, only 2 shots each for foulers but the 2 shoot under 1/2" out to 200-300yds.
I just ran up a velocity ladder test to see what this rifle was capable of running H4831sc. I’ve got a 28” Bartlein 7.5 twist and here are my results with 110 SMKs and Peterson brass. Slight pressure signs as 45gr.
42gr- 2940fps
42.3gr- 2953fps
42.6gr- 2968fps
42.9gr- 3018fps
43.2gr- 3051fps
43.5gr- 3053fps
43.8gr- 3098fps
44.1gr- 3117fps
44.4gr- 3120fps
44.7gr- 3144fps
45gr- 3172fps
Good seeing you at the shoot on Saturday. Funny we both went from SnoWest to Snipers Hide!
For what it's worth, I have been running RL16 in my 6.5 and 6 Creed with good success. Seems plenty temp stable, and some pretty good velocities with not that much powder. Running the 110 SMKs out of my 6 creed at 3050. Shoots 1/2 or under, which is pretty much the limit of my marksmanship skills anyways...

Small world isn’t it?! I borrowed my user name from SnoWest. Thanks for coming over and re-introducing yourself. Hope to see you at more matches.Good seeing you at the shoot on Saturday. Funny we both went from SnoWest to Snipers Hide!

What load are you using to achieve 3050 with RL16?
When I built my rifle I bought a box of factory 87 grain hornady Vmax for breaking in my 6mm CM and they shoot great in my 1-8 twist barrel.Thank you.
I could try the 87gr VMAX if the lighter ones don't work well.
I am using 44.5 reloader 26 in hornady brads with 108 eld match. The accuracy is pretty good going roughly 3100 fpsAnyone have a starting load for RL26 in Lapua brass, with the 105 class of bullets?
Anyone notice any difference between small and large primer cases?
Thank you, I haven't been able to find a real answer.I appreciate your input.Brass life seems to be the biggest benefit. You'll need to redo your load development if you're swapping from LP to SP. I prefer the SP because I can load hotter if needed and know my brass will last longer than 5 firings.
Anyone have solid data with alpha brass( please state new or fired) 110 smk and RL16?
Can't get anything better than 7 SD and group variation from 0.450 to 0.850 at 100 yards...
I think their is a node at 2975 ish but I don't know.
I run new brass with bullet at 0.010 from the land(2.858) and at 39.8 I was getting 2967 and now 3000..
Have you done a seating depth test to fine tune your load for better accuracy?
Not abnormal to be compressed at 47.3, max load (per Hodgdon) is 48.2. I'd say add more powder and see.Found good accuracy and SD of 4 with:
47.3 H1000
107 SMK
2.795 (.045" jump)
MV: 2870
SD: 4
ES:10
22" JP barrel (AR-10)
Should I look for a higher node? I am already crunching powder at 47.3, although I have not seen pressure signs.
For reference, this barrel shoots factory Hornady ELD at 2970 with pressure signs.

Is anyone else having problems with the 105 hybrids grouping? I have a 26 inch pva 7.5 twist, origin action calvin elite trigger. My current load is 41.4 of h4350, cci primers and alpha sp brass. I cannot get any consistency, Ill shoot a pretty good group then the next one will be terrible. I shoot from a bench with good rest. About 150 rounds on the barrel.
I have not, I thought you shouldn't clean it till around the 4-500 mark. Am I wrong? That being said I did clean it last night, someone else told me to try that. I havnt shot it yet with the clean barrel.Have you tried cleaning your barrel?
I am also only neck sizing the top half of the neck (redding bushing die), not sure if it would cause this. I did it this way on my .308 brass and it worked well.I have not, I thought you shouldn't clean it till around the 4-500 mark. Am I wrong? Once fired alpha sp brassMost say to clean when the groups grow. Since your barrel is new maybe it is still fouling up a bit. Neck sizing only shouldn't cause that if you have good brass. It's not range find stuff and all mix and matched is it?
105 Berger Hybrid Match, pointed.Bullet and grain?
Nice! Congrats. Love the 6mm Creedmoor.Just shot my new Axisworks built 6CM yesterday.

Had speeds.from 2950 to 3200 with no pressure. Everything except the 1st group with the cold/clean/new shot was under .5", and had two great groups in the .2-.3s.
42.0 = .240" @ 3056
44.0 = .302" @ 3200
