Maybe not reloading question but could be answered by guys that reload this rd. Have you ran into donuts or any issues with Winchester brass formed into 6slr? I've got a bunch of 243 win brass(800 cases) that I would like to utilize. I've had several 243s over the yrs, and like them, but always intrigued by the SLR case design. Anyone care to share their experience with this cartridge. Also what freebore length worked best for you, thanks.

I have never had donuts with Winchester brass. I'm shooting 110 SMK'S and throated for the 105 hybrids. Jumping .020" I'm running a 7.5 twist Bartlein 5R 26". No problems. Great cartridge!

I have my second barrel on. my first one was off the R.Whitley print as well. the 105's shot great, as I got close (1500)rds I switched up to the new dtacs with Rebated bt. that barrel has 1900 rd on it and still shooting very good. My reason for going with the slr was I can and do use H1000. a cooler burning powder. I use over 46 gr with the 105's and over 47 with the 115's . it is a laser. This is a prs gun so at times it has been run hard. Win brass,no donuts that I know of. older barrel for practice and the new one for match day. My original brass (6loadings is still strong) annealed at 4 loadings.

I shot 2 barrels of SLR. It was fun,and both were lazers. 3 of us had them, and all shot faster powders at too high of pressures and Win brass did not hold up. On my 2, there was no node between 3050 and 3110 fps with a 105 hybrid.
For me, constantly forming new crap brass was a pain, and I moved down to 6XC's, and do not feel as though I lost anything other than not doing case work.
