The Tikka T1x which has made some appearances on this thread, came out again today. My setup has the elevation to do 300 yards as is, but today I was starting at 300, then falling back to 600 yards. I added a Waters Rifleman ELR base to my scope to get me to 600 yards and used the same setup at 300 yards. Shot a 6x5 at 300. Six groups on the one card was never going to fit on the target at 600 yds, so I didn't do a 6x5 there.
The wind was difficult. Wind flags were almost horizontal, I think that is about 15mph but gusting to low 20s mph at 135 degrees to firing position, ie from the right and from my back). Temperature approx 12C.
Tikka T1x 22LR, 16 inch barrel, A-Tec suppressor, Harris bipod.
RWS R100 ammo.
Here is my ELR adjustable base. Set to 40 millirad of elevation for 600 yards.
300 yard firing point
For interest, 600 yard firing point a bit later on. The range wind flags recently changed to Ukrainian flags
At the 600 yard firing point, my elevation was 43-44 milirad (depending on wind and the tailwind component) and 8.3-10.3 milirad of windage (depending on how it was blowing).
Here is the 300 yard 6 x 5
Measured with tape measure; my calipers don't go large enough. Patches are there from earlier shooting. I can't count and I've given numbered the 4th card number 3 as well as the 3rd card in that photo, duh.
1 - 174mm
2 - 139mm
3 - 242mm
4 - 215mm
5 - 149mm
6 - 323mm
Smallest 139mm 5.47 inches
Average 207mm 8.15 inches
