Most 7mm (rem mag, wsm, rsaum, 300/7wsm) setups i see are in the 26-28" range. I would like to hear from people that have shorter 7mm setups and their performance. I see more and more magnum rounds on shorter rifles. Hell my 50BMG M82 CQ has a 20" barrel:) Please state type of bullet and velocity you are getting in the "shorter" barrel. All inputs appreciated.

Re: 7mm in a "shorter" barrel, who has one?

I run a 24" 7Mag which probably isn't considered "short", but I run a 168 Berger VLD AT 2950fps. Personally 22" with any 7mm is as short as I woud go.

My 7Wizzer (WSM)has a 24" Broughton and I get over 3K with 168s. Preferred load is 162Amax @ 2970. Next tube will be a 28", since the new XLR allows some overall length savings...
