7RM 180gn Berger Hybrid COAL ??

Curious what you guys COAL is with the 180’s? I’m getting ready to have a rifle chambered for them, I’m thinking 3.50” COAL touching the lands. Leaves me some room to chase if needed and gets the base of the bullet sitting right at the body shoulder junction. Sitting at SAAMI just sits way to deep in the case. Wanna get all the powder capacity I can

I've found that the 180's like a bit of jump. I'm at 3.475 (65 thou off lands). I load the 190's at 3.504 (38 thou off lands). The 190's show the most accuracy potential in my new 27" 1-8 twist PBB barrel.

Right on. What are your loads / velocities for the 180’s and 190’s?

I'm probably not a good reference as I use military surplus Winchester 857. Have a ton of it and it works well for the heavy pills. My notes from my last time out:

Retest, 2941 avg.

.4 mils @ 205? 2.9 mils @ 558

Added 5 rounds @71.0 & 71.5 just for kicks. Shot great at 71.5!

Keep in mind my barrel is not fully broken in so I expect to see continuing, slight increases in velocities. My 180 charge is only slightly higher at 72.0 producing on average 2973 fps. I need to quit my current job so I can wrap up this development work and enjoy the fruits of my labor!
