I've finished prepping my first small batch of 1x Win Brass for my Rem 700 SPS Varmit and am eager to get some loads together. This is my first shot at precision shooting with my meager budget and the only powder I have that might work well for this application (according to the Lyman reloading book) is 1 lb of RL22. It is said to work well with the 90 gr and above and I can't get my hands on any other powders locally right now. The twist rate is 9 1/8 so I don't think I can used the 107 SMK's. Hoping the 95's will do well. I'm only going to 600 meters max anyway right now.

Any experiences?...

Hi I had a factory standard SAKO 75 SS in .243 with a 1x10 twist.

It LOVED nossled 95 Balistic tips with 42gr of RL22.

A Laser with them, normally under 0.5MOA for 5 and I even shot one screamer group with it, mind you that just shows thw wind can blow a group together as well. ;-)

I load 95gr Bergers. They work really well with 44gr of H-4831 long cut seated 2.85". I have had good luck also with 42.5gr of RL-22. You are right. The 107 SMKs will not work. You need an 8.5 twist.
