SO my venture into a 9mm pistol/SBR host for a Mystic X can has come to fruition. I've saved for a move, sure I have enough to pull it off, so I treated myself with something I'd wanted a while. Normally I'd never spend that much on a 9mm but I guess this was a special occassion. I wanted an EVO 3 S2 but it only works with the Osprey can, and I'd originally looked at the Stribog but you guys sorta talked me around to a better tool. I don't like junk.

So it comes with a pistol brace. Which is fine until I can Form 1 it.

What options are there for stocks? What's best? Is there a collapsing HK style? What about front ends? I understand this weapon is modular and the rail piece that currently is on it ain't that comfortable and just adds weight. Maybe options?

I'm guessing an EoTech will be hard to beat for an optic in this case...

Certainly front heavy but it's damn well built and I really like that short action. Trigger is okay, maybe more than okay, for the given application. A better one would be nice but I wouldn't whine if there wasn't one available either. Glock mags is just the tits for me though, a huge plus.

Maybe I'll even get a 10mm conversion down the road (if they make one?). This thing looks like it's gonna be a lot of fun and may make a damn fine PDW in the process.

Thanks to WA new bullshit law, I get to wait a week or two before I can go pick it up new. You know, in case I'm buying it to kill someone, because everyone knows you can't use your existing firearms for that, you gotta buy a new one each time.

I had one loved it but my trade OCD had me trade it. They run like tops very little recoil, I ran a MRo on mine. I left my with the factory pistol folder on it so I could leave it loaded in my truck. Only gripe is 8# I'll do a dedicated ar15 in 9mm next round

I have one. Couple thousand rounds through it. I like it. The recoil is unique, like the rest of the gun. I run mine stock, but I think Kriss has some aftermarket options.

I thought the recoil was very unique too when I shot my buddies for the first time. It feels good though once you get a mag through it.

Cool. I did want a non-AR and it sure as shit is about as non-AR as you can get. The Sig Copperhead looked nice but it doesn't accept a can at all so choices got limited after that and the EVO 3 S2 fell through (which is damn nice and if you own an Osprey can, you owe it to yourself to get one of these, it's made for one). He pulled one of these Vectors from the back and I'd looked at 'em before and even considered one, so why not? I like how it feels, don't like the weight though. But given it's use, it probably isn't gonna be a problem. I have SBR'd Blackouts for any serious uses. I also wanted a truck carbine and if I don't form 1 it, well, I kinda have one now that I can keep loaded.

I read a review on 'em that said the only reason they aren't more in use is that due to the recoil system, it fires bursts high and low --every other shot is six inches high and to the right! So as an SMG maybe it ain't all that but the semi didn't have this problem so neither will I, I suppose.

Only thing I found regarding triggers was about binary triggers. Not sure how I feel about shot on trigger release. Feels like a safety issue. Chances are I can probably go in there and do some fine tuning but I won't know until I get it home. We'll see, again, the trigger on it ain't that bad to begin with.

    So why not an MPX-K?

They didn't have that. They had the Copperhead and if that had a threaded barrel, well, it'd just be the titties, period, end stop. Between it not taking one and the EVO 3 S2 only using proprietary shit, I figured I was in another situation where I just can't win.

And this wasn't one of those purchase where I'm deadset on a particular item. Hell, this is the first time in probably a decade that I've bought a firearm OTC. I'm also a sucker for unique actions and the Kriss is pretty unique. Glock mags is a big plus, I got a few more 33rd mags and I should be good on mags for pistols and the Kriss now.

IF i didn't already have Blackouts, OR if I needed (another) serious PDW, I'd have bought the Rattler they had most likely.

Your in wa(so am i) binary triggers are illegal.

Prefer a nice 3 gun trigger in it. Or single stage with a short pull and fast reset.

No shit binaries are illegal in WA? I didn't know that (where did you get this info from, all I can find is that it's a "gray area"). I know there's some obscure bullshit about triggers capable of firing 12rds. in 3-4 sec. being considered FA, but I swear to god, and I've been keeping an eye peeled, I've never seen a trigger capable of firing 1 round on it's own, let alone several! Who writes this shit up? FWIW, I can probably sqeeze that many off with a 3gun trigger but another guy I know who's missing a fingertip (an army sniper missing his trigger finger, WTF?) he'd be lucky to get one or two off with the same rifle.

They oughta let me write the laws on gay and transexual shit, apparently I'm more than qualified, since I don't shit about it.

    I have a Kris’s but in 10mm

Yeah, well, now that I have one I can get a lower in 10mm... I'm a 10 geek too, G20, G29, Smith 1006. I got this one in 9mm just because I have a can I want a host for. It was really that simple. The new ones have a 6.5"bbl. vs. 5.5, which is a plus for me. I don't know what to think about those new rails that go in the front though, I may take mine off.

I get home and find out Liberty has no less than THREE upgrade packages for the Mystic X now! I can get it overbored or reinforced to handle .300WM! That has me seriously considering .358 Yehti but that's for another thread I guess. Anyway, turns out I wasn't limited to 9mm like I thought I was. Oh well, it's cheap to load and it is a superior round for suppression of those given.

I bet that's a fun motherfucker in 10mm and from what I can gather, probably the tamest 10mm out there too. If I don't get a lower in 10mm it'll only be because I decide to try and modify one to accept .45 Super or some such.

I’ve kicked around the idea of a Vector in 45acp but have never handled or shot one yet. Price isn’t bad compared to the others I’m interested in (B&T and HK).

I don’t understand your comments on the Evo only taking an Osprey and being proprietary. Specs say it will take 1/2-28 and M18x1.0 at the muzzle. The HB handguard will fit cans less than 1.6” in OD. My Evo is set up like an S2 although I was years ahead of CZ, my barrel is 5.5” which was he shortest people were recommending back then. I’ve thought about cutting it further, not sure on that, but do plan on getting the CZ can to live on it and free up my Omega 9K.

Rcw 9.41.010.... single shot fired for each pull of the trigger. Read and make your own decisions on this one

Okay, I gotcha. I looked online and found it was in a "grey area". I'm guessing the first time one is used in a mass shooting that it'll be treated much like bump stocks were. So you'll probably be right in the long run. Problem with WA gun laws is they're written by manginas that have never handled firearms.

Don't really want a binary, mentioned 'em because it's all I found. If they made a solid one with a semi position, I may be okay considering something like that, but they don't. I did find a DIY trigger job where you replace a screw in the upper with a longer one that'll take up slack in the trigger. The stock trigger ain't that bad, so taking up that pre-travel I think will hit the spot.

I love it. When I bought it I thought I may as well get one in a catridge known for harsh(er) recoil and see if the Vector does what it's designed to do. Took me a bit to get used to the recoil impulse as it is "different". With that said though I absolutely love it. Always goes with me to the range.

I have a vector crb gen 2.5 in 9mm and a 45acp in sdp. I can play lego between the 2.
I bought a Hera sfu for my carbine. Works perfect and easy installation. In case you are getting the sdp, just back out the holding hex screws. Get a clamp and unscrew the butt cap off.
Like the other said, the recoil feel is different than anything else. If you get a pistol and considering muzzle device, make sure the thread fits.
I like the carbine for its accuracy. I can do 2 inch 10 rd group at 50 yd with bipod and red dot. Speer lawman 115gr. I am sure it is a 2 moa gun if I use a scope. Also, if you use subsonic round, you may not need the suppressor, it is much quieter because the 16 inch barrel. I like the 45acp because it is just fun to shoot. Only issue is when I use extended Glock mag, I blow through 150 rd of 45acp in 30 min because it is just so fun to shoot. Make sure you get a nicer red dot. One suggestion, don’t get the white one. My wife want the white one. So, both of our vectors are white. They are just fingerprints magnet. They are beautiful. Every time we have either vector at the range, people just stand behind us and watch.

I saw there is a trigger mod like you. But the trigger is not too bad. Smooth pull and not too heavy. Just make sure you dryfire a couple time and get use to it. But it is not too bad for the design

That's the gist I got from looking at it and from what they were saying. There's no denying it is intended to use the Osprey. Looking at the handguard, I wasn't sure a typical can would fit, you say 1.6 and the can is 1.375, so it would have worked. The barrel sits inside the handguard, so it has to be used with something I guess, but if it didn't have that damn fake can on it, or if it would have included the wrench, or had the book had more info in it regarding the removal of it and what works and doesn't work, I probably would have bought it. But the way I see it, CZ blew the sale by making it seem proprietary and not including so much as a hint otherwise. Even their site doesn't give much away, and I originally bought it based on one picture I saw online of it using a round can. But I back pedaled and wasn't so sure when I had it in my hands. Guys at Rainier usually know their shit but they seemed to know about as much as I did with this one.

What are you all using for sights? I notice Kriss sells steel flip sights but the Vector comes with plastic. I hate it when they come with plastic sights. I can probably score some fixed sights that fit that rail for a decent price if nothing else.

I was considering an EoTech until I found a Mepro Mor without a home in the safe last night. I don't like how it sits on an AR but maybe it'll do the deed here, we'll see. It'd be nice to not have to shell out for a sight later on.

Cool. Yeah, the flip up sights looked okay, looked nice actually, only they were plastic. Defiance they say? I noticed they have 'em in steel on their site. I won't be upgrading those though. If I use fixed I'll just get something from PRI probably.

So I plan on trying out that Mor on it, as soon as I can get it anyway, damn WA! Hoping that tri-power Mor can find a home in the process, I think the slaved lasers and base adjustments will be of more use on this thing than a rifle anyway. I figured various red dots or EoTech is what everyone would be using. I ordered some 33rd mags and I got a 1/2-28 compact direct thread adapter for the Mystic X (as well as a bag of Pmags on sale and some 17rd M9 mags for my buddy) and I think all that junk is already here or will be here before I can go pickup my pistol (scratch, it was here waiting and I'm also still here waiting....).

Pretty sure I'm gonna Form 1 it. I like the stock selections, particularly the Kriss side folder (I don't think those fit gen2's) and I swear I saw an HK collapsible style somewhere once (no idea which gen. or who makes it) although I think it comes with a folding AR buffer tube adapter that I know has a brace in it. I was considering possibly that "SOCOM" AR stock (or whatever it's called, the super basic one) if not one of the Kriss models. We'll see I guess. I know with that brace folded, it's hard to access the trigger if ever tried to fire it that way and I'd like a regular stock anyway I think.

Kinda excited to get it soon, I'd like to get it before I have surgery so I can go play with it more than firing a few rounds from the porch. How long does WA need FFS? Geez...
