So my boss finally got his YHM can from Rainier Arms and they told him he needs an AAC-18 adapter which they don't have. Why they didn't tell him he was going to need when he bought it is beyond me. Anyhow, I suggested he try Midway and they are totally out of stock and said maybe 4-5 months! Anybody know where he can find one?

18T mounts havent been made for awhile.

If its a YHM can then it uses a YHM mount.

YHM ships their cans WITH mount as well. Perhaps if it doesn't have it the dealer decided to keep it and sell it?

Re: AAC adapter needed

Jason, thanks for the link. His rifle is a YHM and so is the can. He got them both at Rainier Arms. Our office is just up the road apiece from them. The guys in there are really knowledgeable so it seems really weird to me that they didn't tell him that he was going to need this six months ago when he did his trust.

Re: AAC adapter needed

As already said above. Yankee hill cans do not need AAC adapters. They have their own mounts, and if you purchase a Yankee Hill Quick Detach can, it comes with the mount. If he needs an AAC mount, then apparently he has an AAC suppressor.

Or the SOT kept the mount that came with the can. Wouldn't be the first time a can was stripped of all accessories for sale.

Well, there is an exception. The early 5.56 AAC cans actually took an 18t mount made by YHM for AAC. So in a sense, what is being said is partially correct.

Re: AAC adapter needed

1. It wasnt a Phantom or a blackout, it was an old design
2. The 18t mounts have since been put away by AAC as they are obsolete.
3. You can still buy them as there are many of those cans still in use today.

Just because the can itself may be old or the technology, doesnt mean its worthless. The internals of a 762SD with 18t mount are the same as the 51t mount.
