You may have read my other Thread looking for the best place to have several of my suppressors modified to HUB mount capability.

Well, one of my suppressors is an AAC 762 SDN-6 and I have noticed that AAC offers this service and more for my suppressor....more meaning that they say it will be shorter, lighter, less blowback, and 300WM rated!!! Seems great...but is it $700 great???

I am curious if anyone has had this work done by AAC and can provide feedback?

I'd just get a new 30 cal can for less money, then you'll have another can. Get a KGM R30 for $650 that's hub already, lighter, tunable and rated to 300NM. Get a Polonium 30 from OCL for $500-ish. You've got better options.

The only thing about the update that is worth it is the removable front cap. Which would be awesome when someone makes a muzzle brake you can throw it on.

Once someone comes out with a AAC Ranger muzzle brake I will get mine updated.

I think that the restoration program made more sense when transfers were taking a year or two.

The hassle and wait caused us all to become more attached to a muffler than we probably should have been.

Yes, a new can incurs a $200 tax, but there are a lot of great suppressors out there now and transfers are now measured in days if not hours.

I agree with others posted above: just buy new. If nothing else, you’ll have it a lot sooner.

Did my SDN, but not my SDN-6… a bit quieter despite being smaller and lighter, and a much more palatable tone; deeper/lower pitch first round pops too.

Had them re-core my shot out Ti-Rant 45 at the same time:

Less than 2-week turnaround.

I regret sending mine in. Should have sent it somewhere else. Mine came back and is significantly louder then the original even with a baffle strike. I had a baffle strike in my sdn6 so I figured it was worth sending in to get rid of the 51t mount, but it's so loud now it will never get used.

Any more feedback regarding the AAC Restoration Program?

I will admit $700 is a lot, and I think it's fair to suggest to just purchase a new suppressor.

HOWEVER, I would like this suppressor to be useable. My main issue is the 51T mounting system and the "teeth" on the suppressor no longer grip current or new 51T muzzle devices....and here's my dilemma:

1. Send the suppressor to ONLY have the HUB mod done. This solves my issue with the suppressor and the guy I reached out to charges $235...not bad.

2. Since the suppressor is well used for just over 12 years, have the HUB mod done AND have it recored??? Maybe I'm not fully informed and the recore is only necessary if there's been baffle strikes? To do both, it would be $550.

3. Seeing the above, having AAC do the Restoration is only $150 more than a 3rd part ONLY doing a recore and HUB mount. Is the removeable/replaceable end cap and using AAC to do the work worth the extra $150?

I know only I can answer this, but I really hope to get as much feedback and understand that I am going to be sending this suppressor to have the HUB mount done...that NEEDS to happen. It's just now a question of does it end there, or do I have it fully reworked and will that work be done by AAC or some 3rd party.
