Just picked up a 700 AAC-SD used and cheap and want (need) to ditch the stock. I have used McMillans, HS Precisions and B&C stocks in the past and have mostly liked each one for different reasons. I know Manners are popular but the mini chassis system is big bucks. I love the Whiskey 3 chassis but again, big bucks. This is a range/fun gun and not going to be used for super long range ... I have other tools for that. Please provide any stock choice input and pics ... don't want to turn this into a $3000 plus gun. I am building a 6.5 Creedmoor for that ...

Things I am considering and would like to see picks of (with an AAC mounted):

    HSP 5R take off stock
    B&C Light Tactical Medalist A3
    B&C Medalist A2

    THANKS

    Mike

Just sell it to me and you won't need a stock !

If you really want to see the gun in different stocks check out the Twenty inch thread . Sorry, I had it bookmarked, but it has been deleted from my list.

I also have a very nice MCS-T with chassis listed in the for sale section !

Wade ... I have been really close to pulling the trigger on your stock! Just too much money for me for this particular project because I'm in the middle of a bunch of other "initiatives". Thanks for the tip on the 20" thread ... going searching!

    Best,

    Mike

Look at the XLR stocks. I love mine, I sleep with it when the wife is away

Prior to my AICS I had a 5R take off. Great stock although the the aluminum block did not exactly line up with the barrel channel. Fixed that when I glass bedded the action. Loved it but went to the AICS when I wanted a detachable mag system.

I know you don't want to spend that much money right now on another rig, but I would just wait and save up more and get what you really want. I just don't see the logic behind spending a still decent amount on something you didn't really want. That said I would go W3C all the way.

If you plan on going DBM you might as well get a chassis set up to begin with. B&C Stock - $220. CDI w/mag $285. Inlet with Shipping another $100. That's $600 right there. Another few bills and your into a full chassis set up. If you dont' want the DBM a B&C or similar should work great.

I went with the B&C Medalist 2958 stock and am pleased with it. I wanted something conventional that would help get the most out of the 700 SPS Tac accuracy wise, without spending a fortune and turning it into a 15 pound behemoth. See the link below in my sig.

... I hate it when logic is employed and I have no real defense!

    Great point and THANK YOU!
