Hey everyone. First post other than to purchase in the classifieds. I recently picked up this rifle up (thanks to hemiram347) and thought I would post a little review. Here are the specs of the rifle:
Stiller TAC-30 short action 20 MOA rail
Manners T4A stock w/ Manners Mini Chassis
26" Rock barrel. M24 contour. 1:8.5 twist. Threaded 5/8-24
Rifle Basix trigger
Scope: NXS 8-32x56 NPR1 (thanks excaliber)
I've only put about 130 rounds through it so far, but have been very impressed with the rifle. I would consider myself an average shooter (college student, no training), so take that into consideration with the group sizes.
I will say that Aaron Roberts has been very helpful since I purchased the rifle. He made contact with me when I bought it and spoke with me on the phone about the build and his load he tested it with. Since then he has checked in with me a couple times to make sure that everything is okay and to see if there was anything he could do for me. I was very impressed with his personal service. To me, the rifle is beautiful and shoots much better than I do. I haven't seen his name come up too much as a builder, but if you are in the market for a custom build, I would definitely recommend Mr. Roberts.
First time posting pics. Hopefully they'll show up. If not, any help would be appreciated.
Trying to get used to shooting 5 shot groups rather than 3. 5 shots at 300. All shooting off bipod and tab rear bag.
Used steel target to get on at 650. Then shot this 5 shot group:
Final 3 shots after adjusting at 650. Perfect day to shoot. Could I do it again? Unlikely, but the rifle is capable of it.
Please leave any comments or suggestions you'd like. I'm here to learn.
