For those pairing a calypso directly to Vector X, the calypso expects pointing to DOF. The North/DOF feature of AB Quantum does not transfer with the pairing.

Already tried it and i must say its perfect. Only minor gripe is with one accidental “swipe”. you can delete all custom groups or targets and reverts to default. This is not cool as sometimes during matches one forgets to shut down screen on phone and things happen.

They should only delete if you hit the trash can button.

Gear->clear all/all custom and it reverts to default values.
Its pretty clear but sometimes too fast maybe another confirm or something along those lines BUT the most annoying thing and this should be fixed is that if you have custom sector or group when you clear all targets some default BS targets show up and not clean slate.

The 5 clean targets is the intended behavior of the Target Card.

This is a good update. I like that the VectorX is finally supported. My gripes with the app are overall very minor.

I wish that the TerrapinX could be supported but it’s my understanding that limitation is on the Terrapin, not with AB Q.

Thank you for the continual updates and your presence here on the forum. It is greatly appreciated.

@DocUSMCRetired please add ability to drag/move targets on the list in the order (i think its best then to order by distance - now it seems first comes first listed) and also when lasing usually you hit button several times to make sure reading is correct and every lase = target which can be annoying so me thinks a way to "quick delete single target - swipe right/left for example with menu delete like gmail app or something similar" would be perfect opposed to coding some special algorithm to "take one of many consecutive readings within x distance". Sorting by column might also be good feature like name, distance drop....

Otherwise today we again played with range cards and lasing and i must say "it simply works" its like in the arty units point click store send use without any fuss really nice and quick way to store target data cudos dudes...

1) We will discuss this.

2) If you want to laser a single target over and over, you can highlight the Target on the Target Card and it will only update that target with the Range Finder.

3) I can share this so we can discuss sorting by a specific column.

This is a fantastic update — really appreciate the Vector X and Calypso AB Mini pairing. Now I’ll have live target ranging and wind data, ready at a glance.

One recommendation: please consider adding E-Dope Down Range System dope card upload capability to the AB Quantum app. As you know, this feature already exists in the Vector X native app, Hornady, and Kestrel. Including it in AB Quantum would be the icing on an already impressive cake.

Here’s how this fits into a typical stage flow:

  1. Read the stage brief and understand the course of fire.
  2. Range the target(s) with Vector X — capturing heading, temperature, pressure, etc.
  3. Get your wind read from the AB Calypso.
  4. Be a good squadmate: spot shooters and pick up brass.
  5. Now you’re the on-deck shooter.
  6. Run to your tripod and scan your E-Dope card with a mounted iPhone to upload the latest dope.
  7. Attach the dope card to your scope-mounted holder.
  8. Take a breath and wait for the beep.
AB Quantum already gets you 90% of the way there. The only missing piece is E-Dope card integration — a small lift with outsized impact. These cards are already widely adopted and proven across other apps. Bringing them into AB Quantum wouldn’t just round out the workflow — it would elevate it.

One great app. Three great tools. Seamlessly integrated with the best ballistics engine on the market.

My quantum app version is 3.4.5, subscribed to Pro, and I don't see max ord or trace in the manage columns menu. Last update was June 26th. How do I get the app to update?

I just looked, you have to scroll down to find them, but mine shows on both. If that doesn't work, you can try deleting the app, restarting the phone, and reinstalling the app.

Giant cluster fuck of an update.
Again.
fucking yay.

Elite membership 3.4.6

AJ needs to be turned off (not ON) for AJ to be accounted for (more on this soon). But wait, there's more!

I run a RH twist barrel. So LtR wind should should show more dope and wind than RtL at the same distance, wind, dof, etc.

Spin drift shows up correctly. AJ shows up inverted. I need to select a LH twist barrel for AJ to be accounted for correctly, but wind calls are wrong. Lovely. Adjusting between settings to get the correct firing solution.

A year + in? And the app manages to just get worse.

I double checked this this morning based on your report and I am not able to reproduce. I also have zero reported cases of this, so this might be a one off issue with your phone.

Barrel twist and Aerodynamic Jump are working correctly on both Android and iOS.

Something is definitely still fucked up. 2 different Android phones are doing the exact same thing.

Who/where do I go to in order to get this resolved?

@DocUSMCRetired - Question, since the latest update my gun profiles have a 'Yellow Circle with Exclamation' indicator next to their names. Assuming this is a sync error indicator?

I'm signed in and there is a check mark next to the Cloud icon. What's going on?

Maybe a dumb question but how do you delete a profile off the the vectors once they have been synced from ab? I synced an old profile by accident, deleted it from my ab profiles but is still showing on my vectors.

is there a video or instructions on how to connect and best use the Vector X + Kestrel 5700X WEZ + Calypso + AB Quantum? It’s just confusing with all the overlapping functionality. I don’t know which order to connect these devices and ultimately how to use Vector X for ranging and ballistic data

1) You would need to decide if you want to use the Kestrel or the Calypso with the Vector X. Only one can be paired to it.

2) If you pair the Kestrel to the Vector X, you cannot pair the Calypso to the Kestrel. If you do, the Vector X connection will be removed from the Kestrel in return for the paired Calypso.

3) The Kestrel operates in Device mode (paired to a Range Finder or Calypso etc) or in PC/Mobile mode (paired to an app). So it cannot pair to both at the same, you will need to change modes if you want to pair the Kestrel to AB Quantum.

4) AB Quantum will allow you to pair all 3 devices at the same time, however at this time only 1 device can be active. So you will need to change the active device to the one you want, when you want to use it.

If you try to pair the Calypso to both the Vector X and Kestrel at the same time without removing it from the other device you will create a race scenario conflict where the devices race to be the first to connect and it causes issues.

This is very helpful seriously, it clarifies some of my confusion. In the IT world, specifically in High-Availability Clustering, when two nodes start acting like the Master node we get this situation called Split-Brain where two devices are updating data at the same time causing all kinds of issues. This sounds like what we get when Kestrel and Calypso are both trying to update wind. I hope the AB Quantum can act as an orchestrator to mange this flow of data from multiple sensors to help us make the correct decisions.

At this point AB Q will not act as a bridge. I truly love AB but there are some pretty severe limitations so far.

@DocUSMCRetired - I submitted a support request against 3.4.4 on Aug 1. Should I expect to hear something back on that? Checked spam folder, etc. Found a weird behavior that doesn't seem right/intuitive that I don't think was there in the previous release. Thanks!
We have no open tickets, so all cases have been responded to. I would say check your spam folder and add an exception for the email.
