I currently own a Remington Model 700 in .308. I am looking for some help on a load for the 165 grain Accubond. While I do shoot out to 600-700 yards for fun, I use my gun for mostly for hunting. I have read this forum daily and read through numerous posts about paper bullets but I have not come across one for the 165 Accubond. I just started reloading again and I am also looking for some good manuals to get reaquainted with the process. Any advice is welcome!!

Remington 700 .308 26 barrel
HS Precision stock
Vortex Viper glass

Re: Accubond Load?

I've only started load development for these, but Winchester 748 has shot extremely well so far. My rifle hasn't seemed to like any other powder I've tried so far. I'm going to load some more Varget since I've gotten good results with it and every other bullet I've tried in the rifle. Rifle I'm shooting these through is a M700 SPS Tactical AAC.

Edit to add: Most of the manuals I have are older, but I've had good results with the current Hodgdon manual and the new Nosler manual.

Re: Accubond Load?

I have spent some time looking for a load for that bullet on this forum. There is alot of info on paper bullets and a few hunting bullets. I have shot numerous species of animals and I like the performance of the accubond for bigger game. I also shoot the 165b Sierra Game King for mid size and smaller game. As far as manuals go, I was looking in Midway's catalog and there are so many of them, I'm not sure what would bne the best to purchase.

Re: Accubond Load?

I have some loaded in 308 with varget but have yet to take anything with it, now they did work very well in my 30-06 on game and paper.
