Accuracy International AT-X

Curious on mag choice for 7saum in an atx? Prob just tuning and guesswork as nobody has done one. That's a fantastic cartridge list though.
Well for one, not ever one who owns a ATX, AX, or AT knows it can be done. 2nd, the biggest problem is getting a 2nd bolt. AI is slow as fuck to produce rifles and parts. But there’s a few here that already have done it. Once you get the bolt machined, you already have open up a menu of SA magnums cartridge’s at your disposal. Kinda like a “poor mans axsr“. Though your best friend will be a gunsmith.

Took Advanced Precision Rifle at Ridgeline this weekend. The AT-X performed like a champ. It helped me take home one of their coveted black hoodies that can only be earned! Pics from the weekend.

I shot the smallest 5 round 100 yard group in my life today with my AT-X, .184" if you measure outside to outside and subtract the bullet diameter.

This load has consistently been in the .3's at 100 yards, but it really opens up past 300. The ES and SD are kind of iffy. I'm tempted to change primers,or figure out something else I can do to improve velocity consistency.

Still trying to convert to 6Dasher. I’m hung up on the mags. The HRD mag kits are out of stock everywhere. Is that my only option for the AX magazine?
You can load them all the way to the front rib in the mag body and they'll feed/function, however under recoil funny things happen and the rounds will start moving to the rear the mag and problems will rise. My gt does this since the spring pressure is so low on the ax and aw mags. I'm looking for a couple more hrd kits that'll I'll modify by thinning the rear spacer for gt. I already have a few for my 6bra aw mags.

Had it laying around, fits the can I run on the gun.

If you ever decide to change it up, look into the Rearden brakes. The PRS brake would fit that rifle nicely, and stays with the Plan B thread pattern.

My wife's rifle has a cherry bomb, but I'll probably change it out for a Rearden SPB. I don't like that the cherry bomb doesn't have wrench flats in case it gets stuck, and it's not fun to shoot on a bolt gun unsuppressed.

PS - nice rifle! Love the paint job.

Great…now you just cost me a few $$ worth of muzzle devices! Lol I would agree that the cherry bomb is a generally lack luster muzzle device. And speaking from experience, getting one stuck in a can is a huge pain in the ass. Thanks for the info!

You're welcome

The PRS brake will also protect that barrel shoulder better as well, it's designed for larger barrel contours.
