Accuracy International AT-X

Was this recent? I was there in 2020 and I don’t remember Bryan having them. I remember “Core” had Seekins make an AW baseplate a while back that was low profile and would probably work well with this to get that extra round in the AW but those are unobtainium these days.
Mid 2019. I contacted Seekins about doing another run for a SH group buy and they weren’t interested.

Does anybody that has an AT-X also have an AXSR? Wondering how they compare in terms of controls, stock, etc. Also weight as well. Basically trying to decide if I need another SR since it is my favorite rifle by far. This would be mainly small calibers so an AT-X might work if it is similar. I haven't been able to see one in person.

Not really close...

Axsr 2 position safety...atx 3
Atx short bolt throw...axsr long as F bolt throw

Stocks different....

Axsr higher bore height....

Are you going to run a clip on?
Negative. But I do have a halo LR I may put on it from time to time. That’s why I’m thinking 1.5” mount may be better so my cheek weld is the same for both scopes. The Halo LR has a Bobro mount. Thinking about getting a Bobro monolithic 1.5” mount for the day scope as well so it’s easy to pop them on and off. Would be nice not having to use tools but I’m not sure how repeatable and reliably a QD mount would be on a precision rifle. I’ve heard both sides of the argument.

Well if you want both the clip on rail and action rail on the same plane you will need a high action rail first then you could probably run the 1.35 and be okay.

I think GDI was the most repeatable mount in tests. That test was before the Spuhr QD mount came out.

I would get a mount with nuts on the side like a Nightforce or Badger and just keep a t handle torque wrench with you. Or you can just keep a litte wrench with you and use witness marks on the nuts
Ideally I’d like to set up on a tripod for coyote hunting with a day scope and as it gets dark pop off the day scope and throw the thermal on. So being tool less is pretty important. Don’t mind getting the spuhr but figured I could save a couple hundred bucks. Also the GDI are overpriced IMO. Spuhr is borderline overpriced as well especially with the ARC mount out now

I did what you are doing for the years I ran dedicated thermals. You have to carry the halo in something. Pick one of the 3 and put it with the halo:

Quick detach is for the real or imagined operstor operating operationally that needs to ditch a failed optic and switch rapidly to irons.

On a precision rifle quick detach unnecessarily adds cost complicity zero
Issues etc

I think anyone running the long bridge is using 1.5” mounts. If you’re planning to run the short bridge or none at all then I think 1.35” would be fine.

Seen a lot of the Mil guys running Geissele and the new Badger mounts lately, but hard to go wrong with Spuhr or Hawkins too.

I have Hawkins mounts on most of my rifles. Very happy with them. Zero complaints.

I got into the QD stuff in my "timmy" days. A whole lotta nothing for problems. While I still put irons on my ARs, there is only one situation for a QD and that is if the optic is smashed and you can't see through it for you co-witness. (And becuase you are operator AF you cowitness lower 1/3 like a proper timmy). Precision rifle, too many days have been hosed by those damn QD mounts, even good ones.

I have never, ever had a need to actually "use" my QD stuff. Its a waste. Slow Speed, High Drag Mall Ninja Out. YMMV

And because I always need a toolkit, one sits in my bag, so I can attach or detach anything as needed. Throw in some fix it sticks/torque wrench, problem solved.

MDT adjustable elite grip really hits the spot on the AT-x. Feels awesome and a good amount of adjustability.
I’m glad it works for you but I can’t get past the aesthetics of it. Just looks like it doesn’t belong. Not the most important thing, I know, but I wish AI put some effort into developing a “competition” style grip for it (vertical, thumb shelf, etc)

Ya be nice if it blended in better with the lines of the rifle but it checks all the box’s on fit and feel for me.
Glad they didn’t use a proprietary mounting style. Lot of good grips out there to use 👍🏻

Agreed. I went with this grip from MK machining. Another member here posted a pic and it flowed nicely. Now I just need a rifle…. 😂

@Peter Laurvick ....look what showed up today!! Excited to have such an awesome rifle, I can't wait to shoot it.

Oh, and yes I had trouble sleeping last night, and will probably have trouble tonight as well. Did your FDE show up yet?
I pick mine up around lunch tomorrow. Tracking puts it it town tonight. Already got Ammo prepped. I’m stoked

Received my FDE from Mile High.

Immediately swapped the barrel for a 6mm Creed, threw on the bridge, a pair of external weights TBAC Ultra 7 and scope.

Initial impressions is very good build quality, tight smooth fit and finish I was expecting. Handguard feels great in the hand, haven’t messed with the trigger other than dry fire, I may mess with it later just because but I’ll run it as is for a while. The balance is still just a touch farther back than I want on my full size Gamechanger so I’ll be ordering the internal channel weights to move the balance forward. Can’t wait to get it to the range, honestly disappointed that tomorrow is thanksgiving cause I won’t be able to shoot 😂, but I’m thankful it’s here

Looks awesome man! I’m jealous. Called Euro today and they’ve still received zero Dark Earth models and no bridges for anyone who preordered.

Your pics will suffice for now. Keep em comin

My fde bridge from euro showed up today ?
Gotcha. Whoever I spoke with told me they don’t have any and don’t know when they are getting them. When I told them I preordered with them and I wanted to pay for a bridge so they’d ship together, he told me that wasn’t possible because they have none.

When did the bridges come in? Have the dark earth rifle (shot it today again in 6CM, put a TT on mine) ... been checking in on MHSA on bridges and havent seen them offered.

I think you have to call mile high.

I found a link on euro and backordered the fde bridge. Only took a week or 2 to show up
