Those of y’all that reload and have the 16.5” proof carbon barrels in 308 how much of a pain in the ass was it trying to find a load for it? Using 175smk’s, lapua brass, CCI 200’s, and varget. I’m having horrible luck. Did it take a certain amount of rounds for it to break in or speed up?

You can add a new barrel in 300NM but it requires a different bolt. Same bolt as a 338 Lapua.
I have a 0.585 boltface and access to a 300WM prefit, I want to know if the 300WM barrel can be reamed to 300NM. I understand it’s a long shot given the case differences, but just want to confirm.

I’m not a gunsmith but I did stay at a holiday inn express last night. Yes you can do this because the 300NM case is larger than 300WM.
Your going to spend 350 bucks trying to rechamber it when you can buy a proof steel prefit for 550 bucks. Why would one want to risk boogering up a perfectly good Win mag barrel?
I use the 42” Cadex drag bag. Not sure if that’ll be compact enough for you, but it’s a really nice bag.
Because I’m in Aus and prefit barrels are as rare as rocking horse shit.

Took her out to 1k today. Cold bore big plate. Elevation looked good, kestrel matched up perfectly, went to the middle plate, with ease. Hit right edge judging by the violent twisting. Missed first shot on the small plate (10” or so), not enough wind. Held more wind and rung it back to back. No mirage, light breeze, I was the only one on the range until I left.

6.5cm is what I was shooting out to 1k. I have a 16” proof carbon barrrel in 308 that doesn’t like my ultra 9 it seems.

:UPDATE: ALL OUT you greedy rascals...lol. I have 0 mag release paddles that I will give to the first 9 AXMC/AX owners that want one, they are a useful mod that is not permanent. Decided not to make anymore of the paddles, I am thinking of manufacturing a ambidextrous release out of 4000 series alloy to be a replacement for the factory release on the AXMC. PM me your info and I will slip one in an envelope and mail it, you should receive it sometime in 2021 with the way the USPS is running at the moment...
