The AI Overlords have decided that the LE version is now safe enough for civilians to own such a dangerous weapon. We are also patiently awaiting on them to make the ATXC LE version available to us mere mortals.
Now the AXSA LE is also safe for civilian use, but not the AT LE…make it make sense lol.
Yes I understand they’re most likely just getting rid of inventory, but it is laughable at this point that they don’t just make them all available to us civilian peasants.

I picked 5 rounds of the Hornady at random out of 185 remaining rounds. The bolt lift was still heavy but less than the initial 15 rounds. There were overpressure marks like before.
The Berger 215 Hybrid Target cartridges were flawless. Bolt ran like butter. There were no overpressure signs. SD of the 10 rounds was 4.1.
The Hornady SD for today's 5 and the 15 prior was approximately 14.4.
I'll stick with the Berger, and Hornady is going to get a call tomorrow. I'm sure nothing will come of it, but I am going to try.
Lusted after this rifle for a long time...this is my first long action/magnum rifle and my first AI!

Yeah I think from asking a few people questions to gauge extact actions weights etc and doing some quick math that its possible with a Carbon Fibre shorty.. but i just dont know if it will be balanced at all well enough.
My other consideration is looking to an ATX/ATXC
Agreed it'd be a real tight needle to thread to get to 16lbs with an AT.
Short CF barrel and a real steam lined optic and mount.
If you wanna keep that thing nice and purdy, toss a piece of black tape or velcro right behind the ejection port. Brass will tear the hell out of it in a hurry. I had a pale brown one that was scratched up good after 400 rounds.
Or don't, some people don't care, but judging by the pics you posted I'm sure you want to keep it looking 100%...

It’s funny that he mentioned talking about cheaper bolt actions when I was trying to figure out if I was looking at a dollar sign right there.
Is it just me, or does the bolt lift on his rifle appear effortless?
Is it possible that my AIs have stiff bolts because they aren’t worn in?!

After a first look, I’d say that my AWM bolt works way much better and smoother than the AXMC LE. Or maybe I just got lucky with the AWM…
What I do like that AXMCs also have bonded actions, and this the last rifle in the product line with the original action design / concept.
My MC and AW cycles about the same way. But they are both old and very seasoned. I have shot some of the newer rifles, I think they feel similar, you can tell it's not the same. I'm thinking of the new guns have a different coatings on them which causes the drag and what causes the not so smooth cycling of the gun.
I was previously told that it was secondary to the double row of locking lugs in the newer bolt designs.
Setting the safety at the second position and exerting either forward ot rearward pressure while cycling - the bolt’s smooth.
Setting the safety at fire - that’s when the lift’s stiff.
If not for the finish, as suggested - would it be my firing pin springs instead?
2014 and 2015 ATs - probably in excess of 4,000 rounds each by now (?).
I have burnt out (1) 308 barrel, (1) 6x47, and (2) 6.5 creeds on my 2017 AT. It is indeed buttery smooth, and the bolt lift is shockingly light. It’s when lighter if you grease the cam areas where the cocking piece meets the bolt body.
My AT-X is heavier but only by maybe 1-2lbs at most. It’s also new to me as of last year. It did take both of them a solid 3-4,000 cycles to smooth out nicely.

Ok, you can’t tell, but it’s an AXMC 300NM with a TBAC 338 Ultra Gen 1. The big square is the backstop at 100yds. The 10” round steel targets are handgun targets. She decided to hangout between the 50 and 75yd targets while I was trying to shoot a pressure test on a handload (I didn’t bother to put up an actual paper target because I was only looking at pressures and MV).
