Accuracy International to end production of AE

Hmmm. Crud... I just ordered a new MKIII. Feeling lots of conflicting emotions...Excitement. Confusion. Disappointment. Uncertainty. Indecision. Lucky. Unlucky. You get the idea. Should I cancel the order (I think I can...not positive), and jump in line for the "new AI" or keep the MKIII?

I hear ya brother!
I bought mine a few months ago and I'm already wishing I had waited.....NAh maybe not, I really like my AE!

I debated ordering an AW or a MKIII and ended up ordering a MKIII. Now I'm actually really glad I did. The AW will "always" be there. I can get one next year or the year after that. Owning an AE (especially with them beeing discontinued) will be like owning small piece of AI history.

What action do they use on that Single shot?

The bolt is a six lug design, with an AW type safety. You can see the six lugs in this AI bolt thread, courtesy of Rolex Rifleman. http://www.snipershide.com/shooting...ion-rifles/49466-ai-bolt-pics.html#post690905

A pic of the single shot.

Let's hope they sort use a standard pic rail on the new version !

keep your AI and be happy, I have a AIAW and am not selling it to jump in line for the newest flashiest thing. ANY AI is a solid choice and will serve you well for as long as you want to shoot it.

Thanks. Its basically a single shot AE action?

It'd be nice to see the next gen AI rifles/stocks have a modular bedding block that is removable. I'd readily pay for an AI stock that supported Savage, Tikka and Howa/Weatherby actions...

Have you looked at Viperskins? I like the pistol grip, but they have some other features also.

Thanks, Sweet17
Im rockin the Viperskins and love it. I probably will never sell my AIAE MKIII, I'll just save up to upgrade in the future.

I am really impressed with "Graham" post which he noted that he is still running the MKI and has no reason to get something newer. It goes to
show me that AI will always PERFORM no matter what model.
If I really get bored of this 308, I'll probably rebarrel to something with better ballistics like a 6.5 Creedmore or .260.
