I'm a savage guy and now want to build a rifle using a Remington 700.
After searching for an answer, without any luck could someone help me out as to which type models you use most for precision shooting?
I haven't decided on caliber yet I'm thinking 30-06 or 243. Would like to use this rifle for hunting once in a while, and mainly targets to 1000 yds. What are the differences in adl, bdl, and cdl?

Re: ADL, BDL,CDL REMINGTONS

No difference when it comes to what count's if your just going to use the action.

ADL is a blind mag setup
BDL has a bottom metal so you can release and drop cases out of the bottom
CDL is just a finish grade, same action/bottom metal as BDL different grade of finish and options.

All use the same Rem 700 Action and you can make ADL's into BDL etc also vice versa. The one that you cannot go the other way is the DM models but with great DBM setup's out there this is not an issue either.

Re: ADL, BDL,CDL REMINGTONS

ADL to BDL/BDL to ADL- they can be switched, but there are a couple of minor differences. The ADL magazine is longer than the BDL magazine (due to the difference in a floorplate vs. a blind mag) so an ADL mag would have to be replaced or cut down to work with the BDL floorplate. Also, the ADL receiver has a small screw tapped into the bottom of the receiver for securing the magazine to the receiver but the BDL does not have that hole drilled and tapped.

Not saying that it can't be done; only that it is not a pure swap between the two, even in the same caliber.
