Does anyone have any suggestions for a one or two room baby/pet monitor system that has 2 way voice, night vision, motion detection, ability to view over internet or phone but does not require Alexa or google? I'm ok with a could subscription but would rather use SD cards if feasible. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

We have a vtech that has all that stuff but my wife has the app and all the other shit in her phone. We’ve had it for a year-ish I think, this model was an upgrade to another vtech model, and really like it. Everything works well and I’m sure we’ll have this until our next kid outgrows the need for a surveillance system

IF you can live without 2 way voice (hear sound only but not send sound), Ubiquity makes some really nice cameras that you can setup to run off a computer system in your house so you control and own all the data and then if you choose to set it up, you can connect to your own server at your own house with either a web browser or phone app and all your data stays with you. You just need a network switch and a spare PC to run the software (or leave your primary PC on all the time running it in the background.).

I opted for no wifi connectivity, cause I'm paranoid. Infant Optics- night vision, intercom feature, multiple cameras with one monitor.
can you describe your system here or pm me? I have enough paranoia to not want Alexa or Google in my house any more than it is on my labtop.

I do need two way voice. BTW, I am somewhat technically stupid. I can follow manuals mine, but don't do well if I have to do networking stuff on my own

That's a good idea. A baby monitor was put in my son's room. It was wireless, but not WiFi. Didn't have that back then.

Anyway, the darn thing picked up one of the neighbor's calls to a phone sex operator. He's a sick bastard.

The trouble is, I don't know which neighbor it is. So there's no telling what he might be up to around here. It bothers me because of the kids in the neighborhood.

I share this because there are sick people out there and they might like to hack into your WiFi to see the layout of the kid's room.

    Think - Lindbergh baby.

I wouldn’t trust any of it.. My baby monitor sleeps right beside me, when the baby cries she gets up an tends to it, without all that tech crap.. This is 2021, us men gotta be men, and women need to buck up and understand their role as well.. I would hate to raise a snowflake

Like another user stated, vtech with the app.
