Hey guys, I need some guidence. I have a sps varmint barreled action that I just bought a B&C m40 stock for. It shoots just under 1 moa in its sucky plastic stock.

I used to have an aics (shouldnt have sold it) that i received via trade. This stock was skim bedded, albeit for a someone elses action, but it shot great, around 1/2 moa. Should have kept the acis, just was too heavy to carry around.

Had an hs stock on it before the aics and it shot around 3/4 moa without bedding. Id really like to get my B&C skim bedded. In theroy if I bedded th b&c it should shoot like the aics right? I think I can tackle this myself I may need some guidence though, what epoxy, where to bed, ect.

Thanks for the help

Re: advise on skim bedding

Look up the "Stress Free Bedding" Article over on Accurate Shooter.com. I have used this method on two rifles so far. IMHO it works great. If the stock has a bedding block, well just omit the pillar part

Re: advise on skim bedding

Skim bedding,if done right, wont hurt anything. I had an HS precision on my Rem 700 before my AICS and I skim bedded it. It was on the rifle long enough for me to notice a considerable difference, but it didn't hurt anything.

+1 for stress free bedding.

Re: advise on skim bedding

Look up the tutorials both here and on the Accurate Shooter as someone above mentioned. I've done a HS Precision with Devcon and it came out really well. I only bedded around the front recoil lug and the rear tang - let the sides untouched. Worked really well and gave excellent accuracy and consistency.
