Group Buys Aftermarket AI "Obsession" Chassis - Group Buy

I believe the Sage Green and Black are the first ones to be Cerakoted. Next will be the Dark Earth, Pale Brown, and Classic Green, depending on the queue at Red Beard and whether or not they have the color-match to their liking yet.
Do you know if they will be shipping the sage green and black units to you when they are all done or will they wait until all colors are done?

Well some not so great news on the fasteners. I had a local shop strip the black oxide and re-plate with black zinc, but after testing a few of them I don't think the thread geometry remained the same. I'll test them further once the chassis kits are back in hand, but at this point I might scrap those and send you guys both standard black oxide fasteners as well as the zinc plated (shiny silver). That way you can decide if you want the all-black look that might surface rust if left wet, or if you don't mind the shiny look you won't have to worry about any surface rust. For reference, pretty much everything we get today is black oxide, other than a few notable exceptions like Spuhr, which uses black zinc-nickel. Those coatings at low quantities, you're talking dollars per fastener, not pennies.

It's no big deal for me to send both, but it's too late in the game and too expensive to try to source custom fasteners with this low of quantities. I'm kinda bummed, but I don't want to send the kits out with fasteners that won't thread or even worse will mess up a bunch of the threads.

I was wondering if that’d be an issue but no biggie. Good that you thought to check. Lots of places would have just sent it out the door. I agree with rs14, the fasteners don’t worry me, you’ve gone above and beyond already.

Zink plated fasteners are no problem, we can address the color issue down the road if need be. Let's get the sage green (the most accurate color ever) out the door so we can start sending pictures of completed rifles.
I’m right there with you, I’m itching to get these things in your hands.

Here’s the weight of the action, bolt, and tall action rail. 2 lb 13 oz

I bought a full set of Sage Green skins just to cannibalize the grips. Also picking up the Hoptic Mlok quiver and cheek piece pad. Now, I'm contemplating sending my action and two barrels to Redbeard to be cerakoted SG....hmmm 🤔

Now is a great time to do it if you're ever going to want it. Lol

There’s nothing worse than a sage green rifle with a SS barrel. So uncivilized!

I remember reading that. I just want to mount my MPA magneto arm to something. There's only about .100" difference in bore height between the AO forearm and MPA spigot so it should work with just a spacer adapter.
Don't tell anyone but I haven't given up on the spigot idea... Once I get the chassis in hand, I'm going to see just how ridiculous it'd be to make it happen... I'll keep you posted, bro.

Anyone else ready for a drink? Measuring out 40 servings of 2-part Devcon aluminum putty is not exactly my idea of a fun filled couple of evenings!

Each kit will include all the brushes, stir sticks, various sized Q-tips, alignment rods, and epoxy you will need to re-bond the chassis.
