Aggravated with Area 419

Ain't no damage control here, as I said, I tried reaching out multiple times and never could get through and by email as well and never got a response back after the initial exchange, all avenues short of writing a letter was attempted....guess that's what I should have done...knew I forgot something.

You are correct, not a issue any longer.
Your only redemption at this point would be to order the rail.

Well boys, since this seems to have fully devolved into madness, one last thing.

FREE SHIPPING on ALL ORDERS with coupon code "ZBACK" - code good through this weekend. Dead serious, let's have some fun with a weird situation.

All is good here guys, let's not get all bent up about the little things, and enjoy some of this good weather coming our way.

@Zback, if you ever have an order issue in the future or I can be helpful to you, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Cheers!
OK, this got me :ROFLMAO:
I cant stop laughing so I just had to buy something

I did contact them via email and further tried to contact them via phone multiple times with no luck. I was pissed and wanted a answer, I got a very elaborate answer from them and acknowledged I was thankful. Sorry for not wanting to spend $16 shipping on a $45 rail, you are more than welcome to spend your money however you choose.
The problem I see though Zback is that the issue you have isn't really about the $16 separate postage fee, is it.
What you have done or tried to do, is to seek to destroy or tarnish the reputation of a business because you couldn't get all that you wanted instead of what you paid for. The fact that the extra cost to you was, as you've stated $16, it can't have been the cost in pure money terms.
In your mind, that $1300 you paid for the press, buys a whole lot more, doesn't it. Not because it's $1300 but, because it's your $1300 that you have blessed Area 419 with, in exchange for the press, isn't it?
I'll bet you have this trouble all the time with everything you buy. Rude customer service, fit & finish never up to scratch, wait times always too long & on & on, the list never ends.
I think the problem is really your problem. Mommy told you your whole life how wonderful you are, always let you interrupt the adults conversations, never forced you to take responsibility for your actions, never made you persevere, never taught you patience, never spoke about the position or plight of others around you.
Because of the likely possibility that you have no concept of what you have tried to do, I'll state it in plain terms:

You tried to destroy a company over a $16 postage fee.
You tried to destroy a company over a $16 postage fee.
You tried to destroy a company over a $16 postage fee.
You tried to destroy a company over a $16 postage fee.

This kind of vindictive behaviour reveals an acute lack of empathy which, usually culminates with some significant level of sociopathic malevolence.

You really do need to consider very carefully, your perception of reality.

So, I check out of the forums for a couple of days- to do some, like, real life stuff. I come back and this thread is 3 pages long and there’s a free shipping offer, but it’s expired. I had no intention of ordering anything before I saw the offer, and don’t think it would have spurred me to order anything. But, I missed the free shipping window. NOW I’M PISSED!!!

My physics courses never covered the part of entropy where the situation degrades so terribly that everyone gets free shipping.

I normally wouldn't jump into a necro thread and contribute to the problem, but this comment is so damn good that it deserves to be quoted a week after it was originally posted.

It was only free shipping if you actually bought something. If you didn’t buy something then stop being mad! 😜

Interesting thread.

OP, send me your order number. Happy to comp/refund the shipping on the rail.

Worth noting, if you order the rail at the same time as the press, our shipping calculator will charge you approximately $0.10 extra for the rail, as it is meant to calculate by weight/volume, so it would "put the tiny little rail in the box" when it comes to charging you, we spend the money of our own volition to ship items separate, no cost difference to you. I could be wrong, but it sounds like you tried to order as an add-on separate purchase.

At this time, we are assembling and packaging presses in their own area and process. When you order a press, it comes to shipping in a pre-sealed (stapled, you'll see when you get it) box that only includes the press. I have made the decision, so be mad at me but if you get mad at our team we will have other issues, that those boxes do not get opened for anything. Period. This means that the person in our shop that does final QC and staples the box is responsible for what you open. I understand some disagreement with this, but this is the decision we have made and will stand by. It is worth noting that this has resulted in thousands of presses being shipped all over the planet, and - with the exception of one that was clearly opened and stolen when passing through Turkey - there have been no instances of damage to presses in the process. Boxes have been beaten up or mistreated by shippers, but we spend more to package and protect these presses than most other companies spend to fully manufacture their presses.

To answer here, our assembly and shipping (along with manufacturing, QC, all of it) happens in the same building. We control our processes. This inconvenience to OP is one that we have built controls around. Again, an inconvenience, and everything we do isn't perfect all the time in every situation, but we have invested a great deal to keep things under one roof whenever possible.

So the real question is
Area forty one- nine , area four one nine or area four nineteen?

You should start a thread about it

Missed this. Would have bought a shirt just to say BTDT after this thread.

(I've only bought a few mags from the 3 digit numbered company in the Area between 418 and 420 but Craig answered an email personally when I had a question so g2g in my book.)

I perceived them as being lazy.

Some cuntstomers are simply not worth having.

If I owned Area 419 I'd tell my IT guy to make a big dildo appear on your screen every time you tried to access the company website

Watch this. Then make sure the crow is cooked fully

I notice how the dimensions of the ARCA rail changed, first it was "paper thin" then 5mm, a standard piece of copy paper is approximately .004 in thick four you MOA guys or 0.1 mm thick for you mil guys.
Either way, there is a HUGE difference between paper thin and 5mm
Press finally came in...wouldn't you know it...room for a rail...who is eating crow now.... Press is sweet FTW

WTF, how can you not put a 4" ARCA in a box big enough for a Zero Press?! Pisses me off.
The issue, since you started this thread is the reason for the above mentioned quote.
Just because someone or something "pisses you off" doesn't give you the moral fortitude to denigrate a person or company on a public forum. If they ripped you off for thousands of $$ or something significant, I think most would understand but, the situation as you described it simply doesn't justify your complete lack of personal control. From your own account, when you couldn't contact the company in your time frame, your next action was to take your untempered anger to a public forum where you applied your "feelings" in the pursuit of a vindictive outburst obviously designed to do as much damage as you could bring to bear.
It isn't that myself or others don't appreciate the gist of your argument, it is the way you went about venting your dissatisfaction for no other reason than you were "pissed off" & you had to get back at them.
I get "pissed off" all the time but, I don't resort to this kind of behaviour in order to satisfy a vindictive attitude brought about by a complete lack of perspective of the situation.
You are not the only one who has to deal with situations that we find annoying but, it's part of life & everybody should force themselves to gather & take control of their emotions in order to deal with the situation in it's perspective.
The way you "REACTED" to this situation is not unlike a case of "road-rage" whereby you took the events personally then proceeded to ensure that the offending party pay a penalty because you chose to become angry.
Once you realize that anger is a "CHOICE" & not some set of absolute conditions which you have no control over, you will find yourself in a far better position to control your actions instead of the circumstances controlling you.

Craig came on here and clarified everything, no hard feelings. That last post was not intended to be a swipe at them, but for some of you homers on here that acted like it was impossible to ship the rail and press and the same time.

No problems Zback.
We really all have to be very careful & considerate about what we post though. Remember, this is a public forum & stuff we say here can & does come up in a Google search.
Anyhow, I hope you're happy with the press & remember, anger is a choice & life's just too short to let all the shit that comes our way decide our little view of the world.
All the best...

OMG. This thread is epic. It should be a sticky. I’m not gonna shame you any more than you already have done to yourself.

Hey area419: please hurry up and restock the “modular shell holder system”. Please.

Now am sorry if I come across as a bit cheeky here but isn’t there a “send it” code for Area419 that gives you free shipping if you order over $100 bucks? Am gonna guess a press and a rail is over that…

This is a weird Hide bit - and I never really understood the comment until someone who listens to the podcast explained. We are Area Four One Nine, because that's the area code here, like in our phone numbers. Apparently at some point, Frank in a podcast or video called us Area Four Nineteen - which is done a lot. Someone - and I later found out it was a customer who lives in our area - corrected him and explained the number in a message. Then Frank, ever the shit-stirrer showman, made a gag of it, and whipped some people up.

There's a thought that it offends or excites us or whatever, but it's not a deal here lol - was not one of us that called in a rage or some weird shit. In reality we are one of only a few manufacturers of any size that come around here. If we were mad about a terribly common name mis-pronunciation, that probably wouldn't be the case.
