Gunsmithing AI mags not locking into magwell???

Just got my GAP 338 today! All seemed well until i tried to put one of the extra AI mags into the well, I tired both of the extras I had. It will not lock in??? I got to looking, and the mag GAP sent me back was not the AI the chassis came with, but a accurate-mag, and it works... WTF??? any ideas?

Most likely the position of the feed lips. The lips are hitting the action before the latch can engage.

Measure and see if the catches on the mags are located in the same spot if they are then it is most likely what HateCA said.

One other thing,did you post any pics of your new rifle anywhere yet. What action did you use?

I kind of ran into the same problem before with this issue. Had gotten a new AICS with a mag that was un-marked. After buying a AICS brand new with a unmarked mag, it made me wonder. It worked great in everything I used it for. Then when I order some more AI mags, they were marked AI and had a different finish coating on them. When I went to use them, the AI mags would not lock into the mag well. I had to take some of the coating off the AI mags so that they would lock up against the mag latch. I did not want to do that at first, but it worked after that.
