I mean, the guys is Democrat Royalty. That means he can kill as many people as he wants and walk.
Republican shows up at a peaceful protest and spends years in jail without charges.

NO. Just, no. The protocol is that an actor NEVER point the gun directly at anyone. The photographers and camera techs set the shot up to LOOK like they are when they really aren’t. He has been caught doing this before, and even using it as an intimidation technique. There is evidence he was having an angry conflict with the deceased before this happened. I have no doubt (but also no proof other than his well-documented anger management issues) that he fired directly at her to make a point. He’s done it before. He needs to be held accountable.

Negligence can rise to the level of a criminal offense. Usually, if a person could reasonably have predicted the outcome, then a criminal charge is appropriate. But Prosecutors have wide discretion to decide if their actions are in the interest of justice, and it would have been understandable if they had declined to press charges in the first place.
The more reasonable conclusion is that it should be illegal to use real firearms on a movie set. Perhaps it would make sense to pass a new law, or see if existing OSHA regulations might prevent such incidents in the future.
Illegal...no. Common sense, yes. I have airsoft rifles/guns that look more real than the real ones. With todays tech we can dub "psshh" silencers or "bang" sounds where needed. No need for real guns to be used.

At the end of the day, the state was fucking stupid and thought their meddling with the evidence was not gonna get noticed. Not to mention Baldwin hired great counsel. I'm no fan of Baldwin, but the judge made the right call. We all should hope we have a judge like her if God forbid we are on trial for homicide. I know it's a very rare thing to see a fair and unbiased judge, but they do exist and it's like spotting bigfoot when you do see them.

This was an accident... that he caused... He was responsible for the handling of the weapon as the person holding it... He was ultimately responsible as the producer for the safety precautions and policies of the set (among other things)
He might not deserve jail time depending on how people feel about the degree of physical control he has on set vs what his delegate (employee) controls, but he deserved at least a guilty of manslaughter verdict
