The thoughtprocess on this started to evolve somewhere around the mid 2000s from what I saw. It may have been earlier, but I didn't see it start being mentioned as well as taught in various AIT curriculum's until around then.
The original method is the 2 to the chest and 1 to the head. This idea behind this was that the center mass point of aim allows you the widest target area to hit under stress/target movement as well as the location of many vital organs and the added ability of a CNS shot. If that didn't defeat the target either because of a lack of penetration/fragmentation or the lack of hitting anything that would lead to incapacitation; or that the target was wearing appropiate body armor to stop the round, the shot to the head would.
Here's the problem with that. If the shot to the head would fix your problem, why not just shoot the target in the head right away?
If your aim is too high or low aiming center mass, you will still hit the target higher/lower than dead center. This could still give you a positive effect on target. Too high on the head and its a complete miss. You also have to realize that the head is basically 7-8 inches wide; basically half if not less than half of your torso. Your target, if only the head, is significantly smaller as well as will move more if the target isn't standing still. It's a relatively low percentage shot, and even if you do connect, only the eye box is a high percentage CNS shot.
If instead, you aim for the pelvic region, the miss high/miss low factor is still there like it is with a center mass/torso shot. While you do lose the magic CNS eye box factor, you gain hit percentage as well as a very good incapacitation probability as the groin/pelvic region has a massive amount of nerve bundles and major arteries in it. It is also almost never protected by any sort of ballistic protection whereas the chest and head are.

We had 2 'straight up' CQB drills.
One was the offset of your red dot and where it needed to be to get you on target on either center mass or the face and then did endless up drills on both.
The second was 2 center, 1 down as a single movement rather than 3 seperate shots.
eta - Ill give you guys the key to the castle on how to be able to do this repeatibly with a carbine. Once you have your leg/foot spacing figured out on how you be on/close to a perfect NPOA when bringing the carbine up, your weak hand needs to bring the foreend upin a single sweeping motion with your hand holding it like you would hold a baseball bat with 1 hand; dont pull/push it forward/rearward, simply hold it so its not coming out of your grip. if you indexed your stock correctly on the place on your pec where if you rotate the rifle up and keep the tip of the stock there, it will be on/very close to your target, the only other thing you need to do correctly is to keep your strong side armagainst the side of your torso and shrug your shoulder upwards to where it naturally stops. The biggest mistake is people do this and shrug the shoulder forward; this causes you to be on target then to the left, then to the right each time you do it because there is no natural 'stop' to where the angle of your shoulder will be whereas your body will naturally stop your upwards shrugging and itll be almost the exact same position each time. At that point, pull rearward with the firing hand to 'lock' everything.
That's how I can hit you in the face twice before you realize I even shot at you and doesn't have me fucking around with POA for 2-3 seconds after raising the gun up assuming Im not in some weird position or stance.
Learning this from a 'high port' is a totally different thing and generally I didn't use it especially with body armor on as there are way too many variables and you end up with the stock on the edge of your plate half the time.

For pistol I always liked the FAST drill where you have 4 seconds to do a double into a 3x5 card on the face, reload, and then 4 rounds center mass within 6 inches.
I've since changed it from the face to shooting you in the dick first 2 times.
I'd rather spend my time at getting better and faster at shooting on the move than to repeat some tacticool drill over and over and over.
And yeah I know who came up with the FAST drill, a guy with zero gunfights to his credit.

sounds like Mr Green was a well respected instructor and could shoot quite well.
I believe all drills have a purpose.
sometimes static drills safely teach skills before the shooter does it on the move.
like sticking a needle in someone’s pericardial sac when they are in cardiac tamponade.
best to try on a cadaver and training dummy to get an idea of how it goes.

There is a slew of internet famous "instructors" who get a lot of press and are propped up by followers.
His main claim to fame are the FAST drill (a drill no better than a multitude of others) and his "press out" draw. The press-out draw is what you do to hit a target when you suck at drawing a pistol from the holster.
Ben Stoeger has never been in a gunfight either, but I would pay him to train me to shoot long before I paid some guy whose only resume is that he's taken a bunch of training from others. At least Stoeger wins shit.

has to be done in the hospital. Good way for smaller hospitals to save a life while flying a patient to a trauma center.

I think one of the most important things we can do is involve ourselves in the local running of things; city council meetings, school board meetings, local elections. As much as the conversation has shifted to be all about what the Federal government is going to do about every little problem, it still comes down to the very local levels where the main issues are occuring. The cities with these riots have very low level leadership at the helm of the problems. Beyond that I don't have a useful opinion I consider worth sharing.
