Craig Cherry and Bobby Beasley...Still on Patrol August 7, 2004 3rd BN 116th INF 29th ID. Bobby always had a smile on his face and/or a cup of coffee in his hand and Sgt. Cherry wasn't much on smiles but I would've dared you to find a more knowledge TOW guy. They were and still are sorely missed.

David E. Owens Jr...3rd BN 5th Marines April 12, 2003. David and I went to school together, he was a year ahead of me but in many ways he was like me. Quiet, reserved, and an only child, it hit home hard when we learned of his passing. I remember going to his funeral and as we made our way to the cemetary the road was literally lined with people waving the American flag. It was quite possibly one of the most amazing things I'd ever seen.

I hope that God holds each and every one of them in the palm of his hand and watches over their families in the years to come. God Bless and thank you.

My dearest thanks to all who serve and all who lost their lives. You will always be remembered for what you have done and who you were. The men and women in uniform make me proud to be an American and they are the finest people to have walked to face of the Earth. May you rest in peace.

My health has kept me from leaving town to go to the graves that are out of town. But I want to say that I miss the ones I can't get to. They are in my prayers and that's enough for now. I don't need to post their names. Their families know how I feel.

    God bless America.
