I have had excellent luck with my omega. not to bash TBAC but sico CS can not be beat as far as how they've treated me.
both *MY* Omegas (they replaced it after about 8k rounds) absolutely 100% repeatable in Poi shift. no change to accuracy, sometimes change to harmonics but any can may do that on occasion depending on the load etc. the tbac my dad has and the several friends I have with tbacs also have had the same luck. 100% repeatability as far as poi and accuracy. no worries about taking either of these cans off and putting them back on. my gun shoots inside of 1/4 for 5 shots currently so if it happens it's not noticeable for my purposes when I take it off and back on.
that being said, i had mine for a year (at that time) and i insisted my dad buy a tbac for his first can. he did. it was 100% the right call and I'd do it if I could do it over.
the omega ASR mount is wonderful imho. I have no complaints on it whatsoever. my dad wishes his tbac had it. I will happily deal with their (tbac) options for all the benefits.
FWIW I too am in the market for a TBAC. The sound and recoil impulse, which is most important to me, is the best I've tested so far.
also Ti cans are easier to clean than the omega. expect to let sico replace your omega every 5-10k rounds. it takes them 2 business days plus shipping to do this.
if you want the best for a precision bolt gun, it's the TBAC ultra 9 in 6.5mm diameter. I already have a 30cal so the marginal improvement is worth it to me for my future purchase.
if you want a can that is more robust(FA rated) and dont mind noticeable louder(although truly acceptable for SA cartridges like creedmoors etc) recoil impulse not as nice, and cleaning is a bitch on the omega, it may be the can for you.
Love my omega, love silencerco. now that I have one suppressor I've decided I just want dedicated suppressors for each purpose. TBAC ultra is truly a precision rifle oriented product. it will be my next purchase after a new TT scope.
sorry if I have offended anyone with my statements. I do not know much about anything so take all I say with a grain of salt. if you think I'm wrong on something, you're probably correct.
please dont think I'm bashing either company or their products.
sico spoiled me, I can no longer use a brake. I have tried.
now i want the best of the best for this one specific purpose and, as far as I can tell, that's TBAC.
Eta: since tbac is listening, maybe you can make a brake design and locking collar similar to the ASR or maybe even improved by putting the taper in front of the threads as to seal the threads from the gas so they wont bind up if I leave it on there for a thousand rounds or more(which I do often)so they wont back off mid firing string? just a thought <3 I'll be purchasing one this year either way just probably direct thread without a locking device.
