I just got some G3's.Super high quality rings with lots of holding power.I like the double opposing strap wrench idea.

You have a top notch product ARC!

Re: American Rifle Company does it again!!!

On my second set.The first set are M3's.An they fit the scope beautiful. However my second set not so much.I think they'd be M4's.They cross an fasten at the top.My set cross's but you really have to force it together. In order to get the screws started. Then it seems when you get the screws started. They feel to be binding together.I'm afraid to torque them onto my Nightforce.I have snuged them a little. An then taken the scope out.Seems to be pinching the scope in the lower ring. There doesn't appear to be any marks on the tube. What should I do?

Re: American Rifle Company does it again!!!

I'd call the company and tell them what you found. Some NF scopes have particularly "fat" tubes (Frank mentioned having one that was 1/4 mm oversize). Perhaps you have the same issue.

ETA: Both my Razors are about 3-5 thousandths oversize and they were snug but not unmanageable.

Re: American Rifle Company does it again!!!

Just measured the tube an got 29.98-30.01.I'll talk to the retailer that sold them to me first.Just to see if he's got another set to try.I may even just go back to the M3's.
thanks for your input an advice Bohem

Re: American Rifle Company does it again!!!

I hope the Gen 2 is still vailable I installed a set the other night and no roll to my eye.....I like the looks of the Gen 2 better than this new Gen 3 set.

Re: American Rifle Company does it again!!!

I also have a set of the Gen 3's and truthfully I believe that the only system that competes with these rings would be the Spuhr mount, Aadmount, or the Near mount. The fit and finish are fantastic and from a engineering standpoint they are in a class of their own. Come on.....who else does finite analysis of their rings? Impressive!

Buy with confidence, you will not be disappointed.

I may be wrong, but I believe that the AAD rings/mount's ability to return to zero is in a material part because they use ARC's ring/rail interface design.

Re: American Rifle Company does it again!!!

I wouldn't mind having a set of either the ARC or AAD rings. However, given I've been very happy with Seekins and already own them it won't be likely. Incidentally, I mic'd both 30mm scopes I have mounted in Seekins low rings - a NF 2.5-10X32 and a Premier LT 3-15X50. Neither had a variance over .001" (although with both scopes the max. dia. was top to bottom, leading me to believe there is a slight squeezing on the sides. But I'm too lazy to unmount the rings and see if the tubes are uniform. Besides, it's when they're mounted that counts. The NF mic'd from 29.978mm to 30.002mm while the Premier mic'd from 29.975mm to 29.997mm.

Since switching to mounts like the NF DirectMount or the Seekins rings, I've never experienced any ring marks or slippage. At least for my .308 applications these are fine. However, please feel free to send some for testing!

Uhm, no, the ring to rail interface is quite different between the two. There’s more than one way to skin a cat.

Then my bad!

Re: American Rifle Company does it again!!!

I was finally able to get out and shoot my rifle for the first time this afternoon. Of course I forget my torque screw driver so I had to tighten all the screws by touch. I was a little scared to harm the scope tube so I didn't push it. Ended up only putting 20 rounds down the pipe to zero and some preliminary load testing.

When I got home I pulled the torque driver out to tighten the screws to ARC's specs. Appearantly I went a little too conservative because the screws were tightened to about 12 in-lbs. Nowhere near the 35 in-lbs that ARC recommends. Although I was way under spec the scope was still held in place very firmly and didn't move at all under recoil. I really like these rings and they seem to just get better with time.

Re: American Rifle Company does it again!!!

What is the current status of the ARC M3 / Gen 3 rings? The only ones I can seem to find referenced on ARC's web site are called M10s.

http://www.americanrifle.com forwards to the M10 info page.

There is a sub site not linked off the main site that looks like its in development that links to the M3s. That site will let me add them to a cart and check out. Wont let me pick a height though.

Re: American Rifle Company does it again!!!

I just talked to the guys at ARC earlier on the phone and they are at SHOT right now. You might give them a call after shot to see if the have any of the gen3 in stock still if that is really what you want. I will have a little more info on the M10s shortly as I have a set that should be here in the mail today.
